I personally visited this museum on July 17, 2013. I had wanted to see it ever since reading that it was the hotel where Conrad Hilton got his start in the hotel business. Finally, during our annual drive from Houston to the Colorado mountains, I routed our trip through the small town of Cisco, Texas. The old hotel, built in the early 1900's, has been renovated by the Hilton Foundation. I stood on the long front porch and entered the doors to the lobby where Conrad got the idea to buy the hotel after his first venture to buy a bank fell though. I spoke with the friendly host, John Waggoner, he told me about a recent visit by a Hilton family member. I walked the gallery that displays Conrad Hilton's life and work. It gives you a sense of his work ethic and high standards. Two rooms are restored to the way they were when Mr. Hilton ran the hotel. This is a small museum - so take it for what it is. To my interest in history and biography the most interesting thing was to walk where such a great name got its start. You'll find it about a mile or so north of I-20, I've attached the photo I took when I was there. For others in your party it will at least be a pleasant stop to stretch and walk around.
