Welcoming & casual cocktail bar in a renovated old house. Be sure to taste test thier cactus & pepper moonshines, something different, but very good. Great cocktails & nice folks on the patio, what's not to like?? Another reason to return to Comfort.

Stopped in for a drink on our 16th wedding anniversary and had the best time! The owners and distillers are so personable, you'll want to take them home too. Stop in, say hello, and get ready for a fun time.

On an afternoon excursion in the hill country, my wife and I came across this spot. The old house that is the tasting room looks and feels like it has many stories to tell. The whole place gives off this awesome vibe. Pardon the pun but there is an extreme level of comfort going on in this establishment, from the slightly silly decor to the super friendly staff.Of course there are some distilled spirits there for you to try and hopefully by the time you visit you can buy them. When I visited they were waiting for their labels to be approved for sales. However I was able to sample for free some of the smoothest moonshine I have ever had. There is a bar with a talented mixologist serving up some good libations. So who knew you could make shine from prickly pear cactus? The shine smells incredibly like tequila however tastes nothing like tequila and is extremely smooth. I recomend taking your time and buying a few drinks while you are there.

We stopped at Hill Country Distillers after receiving a recommendation from one of the wineries in Comfort. We had the opportunity to try "moonshine". They had cactus moonshine and jalapeño moonshine, along with some lemon-cello and grapefruit-cello. The tastings were small (which is a good thing) and very strong. I have to admit I liked the grapefruit-cello the best because I don't tend to like hard liquor. We also got mixed drinks and hung out and this is where the place shined. The mixed drinks with the moonshine were excellent! The owner stopped by and explained that is really how it should be drank. The ambiance is great and they did an amazing job renovating the house. I highly recommend you stop by and try it!
