Be sure to stop in to take in this local treasure of pioneer stories and artifacts and way of life from days gone by. Sorry we stopped in rather late but the young lady welcomed us and opened up a couple of areas so we were able to see a Pioneer Dugout a highlight.
Wheelchair accessible is what counts for me, sometimes there are many places where a wheelchair can not go even in eateries, museums, malls especially at the food courts an some businesses that do not make allowances for spaace to move around in . I guess these businesses do not want me to spend my hard earned money in their place of business. What gives.
This museum has much of interest about local history. We stopped in to see what it had about the Battle of Blanco Canyon, which is nearby, where the US Army and Quanah Parker's band of Comanches fought in October 1871. It had some information on that, though not as much as I had hoped. But there is a lot to see here including photographs and letters from and displays about early life of the white man in Crosbyton and the surrounding area. This small museum deserves 3.5 stars because it is better than average, however it suffers from an abundance of items to display and not enough space to show them in. It is worth a stop.
