The homes and buildings on this property are very interesting. There were a few places where I thought the decor was not old enough, but this was still a pleasant stop. It was disappointing that there were so many buildings we could not enter, but there was plenty to see.The cost was reasonable, and the main building contained artifacts and historical books that could keep a person busy for a long time. This was a stop on a long trip, and I am glad we made it.

A lot of building have been moved there. A few you can go in the rest just look though the door or windows. The grounds don't have much grass. The day we were there had rained and walked in mud. The two large home you couldn't tour do to bees and wasps. It could reaaly use alot of work. You can have a wedding there but we don't see how. Loy park next to it nic and quiet. nice place for a picnic.

Loved the way the old frontier village was set up with lots of different styles of houses, barns, shops, church, etc. Even kids will be interested in seeing this.

Lots of early information on Denison and Grayson County, found some employee records for a uncle who worked for the Katy Railroad.

My wife and I recently visited Frontier Village. We both like learning about Texas History and are fascinated with how people lived during the 1800's. Highly recommend a visit!!

Took our grandson to Frontier Village. WE were the only ones there around 3pm on a Friday. Not sure how the weekends go but it was empty of visitors when we went. The grounds needed some upkeep and were somewhat weedy and full of stickers. You have several structures that have been placed on the site around 1990. It in no way looks like a village or old tyme town. The buildings vary in size and style and are interesting somewhat. You can go inside some of them and see how they may have been set up during the time period. There wasn't a tour guide to explain anything and no action going on. All the buildings were locked and you unlock them to go inside and lock them when you're done. IT just needs some TLC and work to make it look like a village or town. It wasn't something worth going out of the way for or a repeat visit I'm afraid. Dusty, dirty, unkempt and musty smelling is what you'll see unless you have a great imagination. Cow Town in Wichita Ks, or Old Abilene Town have more to offer. Hard to explain and point out what items were used for and why to youngsters when you have to watch out for spiders and stickers. The older woman that ran the office was so sweet and kind however.

Very good display of old homes moved to this heritage park. The history of Grayson County comes to life.
