We spent a couple hours here and there is a good selection of stores but the parking can be a little frustrating. If you don't mind walking a ways, it is fine.

Like the fact that they have anchore store to shop at. I did some shopping at Penny's this timeand the lady in the shoe dept. was more than helpful she was a delight.

I agree with the "has potential" review. This place has a lot going for it but could be better. For some reason, they just don't seem to be making enough money to keep a lot of places in business - which is a shame, there are a lot of nice owners here. They have a shoppers shuttle (golf cart) that will take you around, even! The things to go for: kid's trackless train, water fountains to play in with restaurants patios facing them so you can eat and watch the kiddos, playscape with sand volleyball courts, community garden plots, Santa in the winter (a very good one!!), Pacciougo, gourmet popcorn place, and even plenty of Geo caching spots hidden if you are into that. Plus good stores and restaurants and a Whole Foods that has a tractor to play on and weekly events. Plus the theater. I just don't get why it doesn't seems to be as vibrant as it could be...worth a look every once in while!

This shopping center is good but if has the potential to be AWESOME! Most stores go out of business after awhile. I miss the bookstore that used to be here!!!! The Macy's and Dillard's are good. We like Cyclone Anaya's and the new TX Land & Cattle for food. Wish they would fill the empty shopping spaces up with boutique style stores. We also like iPic and Strikes.

Live near the Village. Very disappointing shopping in stores other than anchor. Even Coldwater Creek is a smaller version of most of their stores. Most stores don't stay in business long and vacancy is high. Lovely setting...too bad it has not been supported by shoppers.

We've been braving the heat in the evenings at the 'beach' and 'water music' at the Village Beach and Village Fountains on the far north side of the shopping center. Our 3 year old loves the sand beach area that has a small playground fixture, DID have a bunch of pails and shovels (I think the sun baked them all til crispy! we just bring our own now), and a horseshoes/ring toss area that frequently isn't being used so she gets to play with the rings in the sand. We bounce back and forth (across a small driveway) to the Village Fountain with is multiple sprayers, bubblers, and seating areas (we frequently have to use our camping chairs that we keep at all times in the trunk!), and once the sun goes down, the colored lighting under the water fixtures are visible and gorgeous! Every hour, from 7 - 9, the play area is cleared of kids, and a two song choreographed water show happens, ending with a HUGE super-gusher display. We will sometimes eat at one of the strip fast food places (Purple Cow, Twisted Root), but frequently we just bring a picnic and enjoy the atmosphere. The only negative thing I can say (minus the one star) is that parking is at a premium close to the fountain area and you may have to park behind the west side parking garage and walk roughly 150 feet. Other than that, we love this place and are soooo glad it's so close to home!
