This museum in Gaston/Joinerville Texas is located between Tyler and Henderson in East Texas. It tells the story of a little town that exploded overnight when oil was discovered nearby. It's small but tells an interesting story about how their life changed forever. On the grounds is one of the original tent houses that people lived in, an old gas station, and a replica of the oil well that was discovered a few miles away. If you are in the area, it's also worth seeing the New London museum and Kilgore oil museum. Fascinating part of East Texas history. Museum only takes about an hour to go through and is opened limited hours.
