Had dinner here for New Years Eve and we had a great time. The old fashioned picnic tables are really crammed in there but it was a great experience.
We were actually in the post office that is a souvenir shop and bar! So fun. Tuesday afternoon and there were still about 70 people in 2.5 hours - with live country music. So fun. Such great people.
It is the place that every country music lover must see. Live country music, gift shop and food, perfect !!. The staff is also very kind, I wish I could be there more often.
Great dance hall. Clean bathrooms. Nice crowd. Cold Lone Star Beer. Dale Watson is the king of dance hall dances. Doesn't get much better. Texas Forever.
The dance hall is a nice place but do not attend the Luckenbach Blues fest. Listened to 6 bands in 10 hours and heard 4 blues songs, need to call it country fest.
Not much here. A little General Store with a wide variety of items. Nice little bar area with room for some people to play and pick their guitars. Nice outside picnic area and stage. It was one of those place that you need to say you have been there. There is entertainment on most Friday and Saturday nights, most have a fee. Place is famous for the song by Willie and Waylon.
If you are in the Texas hill country close to Fredericksburg, take a small drive to Luckenbach. There is always some sort of live music happening, whether there are a group of people messing around or major Texas band. You can check the their web-site to see who is scheduled many concerts are free. We spent the evening at Luckenbach Dancehall to see the Almost Patsy Cline band in the dance hall. The Dance hall is not large, but has enough space. There is a mix of "regulars" and tourists. Go early to get a table. It is open air and rustic but just the way it should be. The music was great and there was a nice variety of country music covers. It was a moment of good memories as Dad and big brothers danced with the young girls in our family to famous (favorite) older country music. It is a rare occasion to get to dance with the family outside of weddings, so this was precious. There is a fire pit, beers and root beers for the kids and they have various snacks (including funnel cake...kids loved that) available before 9pm.
We visited Luckenbach Texas for the 2014 Christmas Dance with Gary P. Nunn and it was a fun night. Parking was easy. Beers available easily. Nice dance floor with lots of nice people. But the coup de grace was seeing the writer of the song Luckenbach Texas sing it live and dance to it with many other fans and sing along. A great venue to celebrate. The outdoor fire pit was terrific to visit with other revelers on breaks! Highly recommend.
made the afternoon show with Clayton Gardner. Great act! Then we meet 80 yr old Barbara and her two sons, Mark and Charles. We unexpectedly stay all night to listen to John Evans.. We couldnt have planned it better. Amazing time!
Liked hanging out in the woods for a while and listening to some old blue grass country music. It's not everyday you get to hear very talented musicians in the back woods. The property is what it is. That's what's awesome about Luckenbach!
Drove the ten miles from Fredericksburg on a Monday night because there were two singers named on a poster we saw. Location is very rustic. A hall, a bar, a store.msingers were a disappointment. Beer was local and great- from a nearby town. To bad we will not be around on the weekend.
Drove down here one Sunday afternoon and stayed longer than we intended. Sat out the back of the General Store and were entertained by Doug Moreland and the Flying Armadillos for free accompanied by a rather loud rooster which decided to fly up into the tree above the stage. Yes it's touristy but nevertheless has an authentic feel and a good half of those there appeared to be locals (mind you there were only about thirty people there)
It was interesting little place. We went there one Sunday, and the place was so crowded. If you like cold beer, live country music, you'll enjoy this place. There is a little food stand in the property. We had a hamburger and curly fries there. It was not the best, but it was "build your own" type of burger... Nothing fancy. There was condiments and pickles, onions, lettuce in front of the window. for you to assemble it as you like. Curly fries were not like the one I usually get at the restaurant, and they were not crispy.I think this is the place you appreciate more of this atmosphere, and cold one than anything else.
Always heard about the Dance Hall and General Store, but I don't think it's that great. Paid $20 per person to get in to listen to a college band, and not close to country. Listened briefly, went and got a sandwich and beer outside, then left. It's just a few old buildings, a General Store for souvenirs, beer stand and sandwich stand. Pretty much a waste of time and money.
Great time from the people to the setting just all around texas fun you have to experience it. Can't wait to go back. Bring cash
