My family and I have been involved with Pinerook Farms in some form or fashion since the beginning. My children and I began taking riding lesson at Pinebrook farms when there was no covered arena and the owner, Jorine, was the only instructor. My youngest son was 7 years old and now at 39, his daughter, who is 7, is taking riding lessons there. It's the only place I would trust with this job for my grandchildren. My children went to camp there and then became counselors-they loved it. We've atteded clinics, horse shows around Texas including the Houston Livestock Show and enjoyed learning about horses and the proper and safe way to ride and take care of them..Over the years we have owned many horses-all of which came from Pinebrook Farms. They were either born there or purchased to breed to her stallions. I have watched my horses being born there and in some cases die there of old age during this period of time. Pinebrook Farms and Jorine are more of a family to us then just a place to go and take riding lessons. If anyone asks me where should they go to learn how to ride or take their children or grandchildren, without hesitation, I say the only place to go is Pinebrook Farms. It is also a great place to purchase quality horses. As I said, we've owned many horses over the 30+ years, all of which came from Pinebrook Farms or were born there having bread my mares to her stallions.I just can't say enough good things about Pinebrook Farms. I've seen it grow to what it is today and that wouldn't happen except for the great facility, instructors and support staff she has there and the faithful clients who trust the knowledge that Jorine has. So if you're looking for lessons, horse training, horse boarding or anything else to do with horses, Pinebrook Fams is the place to be.Trista Byrd -over 30 years as a client and friend
Finding a barn I can trust with my children was extremely difficult for me. See, I rode and showed in multiple disciplines for over the past 25 years. I have my degree in Equine Science, jumped as part of the Colorado State Equestrian team (many years ago), and even worked on a horse farm in Kentucky. I know some of the things that go on in show barns, good and bad. As a child, these places influence your life HOPEFULLY in a positive and amazing way but unfortunately I also have experienced first-hand the selfishness, greed and trickery of these places. As a parent I wanted to ensure my children learn core horse knowledge. This doesn't just include how to riding but what it takes to be successful in the horse world. . . hard work, dedication, and passion for the animal. I believe riding is a privilege and you have to respect this majestic animal not only for safety reasons but to truly benefit from the experience. I wanted a positive place for my children to learn these skills and this is why I choose Pinebrook Farms. The teaching methodologies and staff are fantastic. They are "real" and don't just give you a line in order to get a buck. This place is "the Real McCoy" and the staff evaluates each child individually. They teach the child confidence and understanding which is needed to grow their horsemanship skills. I know my son and daughter are two different people and Pinebrook accommodates for this so they can learn at their own rate. My kids LOVE their instructor and feel at home at the barn. Their favorite part of the summer is going to horse camp and hanging out with their friends, both equine and human. Of course the best part is the food I am told!I have to say I have met a LOT of horse people in the past years but the owner is an amazing woman. I admire her for her horse knowledge and her people skills. You just want to be around her. Sometimes she even reminds me of my past riding instructors . . .they may have been strict at times but the life lessons I learned from them are priceless. I would NEVER give up those memories and experiences for the world. They helped make me the successful person I am today and I wanted the same opportunity for my children.Pinebrook Farms. . .Thanks for providing my family and I a place to come home to!
I have been taking lessons at Pinebrook for 15 years. I am an adult and have always loved horses, but do not have the time or money for one of my own. I started taking lessons there as a way to still get to ride every week without having to own my own horse. I have never been interested in showing, so for me the fact that it is not a show barn was a plus. I have really liked every instructor I ever had there and appreciate the fact that they are willing to tailor the lessons to what I am interested in learning. Jorine (the owner) has always been wonderful to me and made me feel at home from the first time I went there. The horses are very well taken care of which was always one of the first things I looked for at any barn. I felt comfortable right away with the level of care and appreciated the safety precautions she takes. I can not imagine that I will ever leave to ride anywhere else, unless I move away.Jeanine Schaller
Pinebrook farms is a place that I have personally gone to for many years. I started there when I was 7 years old taking lessons. Eventually I decided on becoming a camper at the summer horse camp and every year I begged for one more week to stay. I met some of the best friends a person could ever ask for as a kid. Year to year we would always return to camp and bunk together in the bunk house and build memories and form dreams together around the campfires under the stars. As the years went by we all became counselors at Pinebrook and this place continues to be my second home. I wouldn't trade it for a five star vacation. It's my favorite part of the year and I plan on continuing to come here for as long as I possibly can. Mrs. Jorine, or Grandma Jo as most of us have come to call her, has become such an inspiration for me. Yes she is the owner of the camp, but she is also my family. I've been through hard times and good times and she has formed into the young woman that I am today. She will surely inspire your kids the same way she continues to inspire me every time I'm with her. Pinebrook farms is a safe and fun place for anyone. Our first priority is always safety and our second is of course FUN!! I hope that you can enjoy Pinebrook the same way that I and so many others have over all the years.
After leaving another facility for safety reasons, we found Pinebrook Farms. As a mother, it is easy to appreciate the emphasis on safety with children working with large animals. However, my daughter went in knowing how to trot and came out 3 years later not having advanced one iota. Her teacher never tried "tricks" with her that she employed with other children although she mentioned them. Even my easy going husband disliked the woman, as she could not bring herself to say anything at all positive or encouraging during lessons to my daughter. She even mentioned the possibility of lessons with another teacher whom she described as "a cheerleader". Her words not mine. One Hour LONG private lesson, my daughter spent 18 minutes on the horse!!! Eventually, the boring, unvaried routine of every weekly lesson got to be too much for my once enthusiastic daughter. We ended up with a child who zoned out during lessons. Not! what you want to have happen around large animals that spook easily. When I tried addressing issues with the owner, I was literally told "I was just wasting her time and mine". There was no addressing anything. Leaving was the only choice left to us. Be forewarned…Pinebrook can be a wonderful place for beginners. But be prepared to do things on their terms, and don't question it!!! Otherwise, this may not be the place for a rider who wishes to advance and perhaps even show. They don't do shows.
We bought our Granddaughter 8 horseback riding lessons here. She absolutely loved it. The price was well worth the experience. Beautiful farm!

If your wondering where you might consider sending your daughter to for camp, try out this wonderful place. Mrs. Jorine has been working for many years to help girls turn into little horse women and does a fabulous job with this horse riding camp. Pinebrook provides girls only camps that show them real horsemanship layered with country manners and great camp fun. Our daughter had such a great time she asked to stay on a second week. The girls that work as counselors have been going there for years and while Mrs. Jorine runs a tightly efficient ship, they love her to death and work so hard to make the camp a wonderful experience. We'll be back next year and no doubt the year after.....
Pinebrook Farms is amazing!!!! You feel like you have been there your whole life as soon as you step on the property. I have been there for 8 years and i plan on staying. Mrs. Jorine is like my second mother and I trust her with anything. I totally recommend anyone to visit the farm you will feel great after visiting! -14 year old student of Pinebrook Farms
