Good prices, family owned. Some nice local flavor. Good trinkets for friends. Do not come out of your way. Marshall is wonderful to see, but the pottery is just ok.

This was a great place to pick up some excellent examples of pottery for an inexpensive price. There was also an excellent selection of souvenirs and other assorted items. It is just outside the city of Marshall, TX and ships all over the US in case you find something you don't have room for.

Marshall Pottery has every conceivable pot you can imagine. All sizes, shapes, and even lots of different colors...some with stripes, some stars, etc. They have a workshop in the back near the restrooms where you can watch the potters making things. BUT, that is not all that this place has. There are all kinds of fun home decor. Something for everyone in the family. There are Willow Tree figurines, Jim Shore figurines, whimsical outdoor decor, lots of cabin type decor, baby items, textiles of all kinds. There is a coke machine on premises and different types of candies. Just a fun place to go and I can almost guarantee there will be something that you just can't live without.

Use to go there at least every couple of years and buy the place out of gifts and pottery. Went today and bought one item. Very limited amount of gifts. Most looked very shop worn. A lot of the pottery is foreign made. The place was dirty and no one was the least bit friendly. Will never make the trip again.

When you visit Marshall Pottery you are guaranteed two things. One, you'll always find a bargain. Two, you'll enjoy your time wandering and searching for a bargain. Don't miss Marshall Pottery for a classic East Texas experience.

We have visited Marshall Pottery in the past, with the last visit about 8 years ago. Our recent trip took us through Marshall and we were looking forward to stopping there again. It was disappointing to find the variety of products to be less, but most of all the lack of friendliness that had always greeted us in the past. NO one even spoke to us as we went in, walked around, or checked out. Even we when we said "thank you" at check out......isn't the retailer supposed to say that to the customer?.........did we get a response. Will definitely not be stopping there again; the prices do not warrant this lack of customer service.

If your looking for good values on pottery crocks or flower pots of all sizes, then this should be a definate stop for you. They also had a large inventory of other pottery items. Good quality and good value!

The best prices ever on beautiful pottery & really nice Christmas decorations. They were kind enough to add drainage holes to several of the pots we bought.

We have stopped here every time we are down this way. The children always enjoyed watching the pottery being made. Since the economy has tanked they too have had to make cut backs. The potters are not there every day, be sure to call ahead to find out what their schedule is. It is so much more interesting to watch the pottery being made. The area where you view the potter behind the glass is very hot. They have benches to rest on & stools by the window to view, but you'll want to get a cold soda. There is a pop machine & restrooms by this area. They have a lot of pottery plus other things for sale here, but it seemed too high for us, may be just what you're looking for though. Lots of things for the patio. Even had Christmas decorations 50% in August. If you haven't seen pottery being made & even if you have, it is interesting. Go on a cool day. There is no charge.

I agree with the other reviews about this place not being what it used to be – but I think it is still worth a stop. Understandably, the recession has hit this place hard and they have had to shrink. Too bad really, this used to be a very fun place to visit – hopefully it will be again someday. They still have lots of terra cotta pottery and some glazed pieces, but not nearly the selection they used to have. The store has a wide variety of items - some bargains, some over-priced things. They have a large selection of cute kitchen décor, garden decor and kitchen gadgets. I hope they can stay open, it would be a shame to see this place close.

When I was a child, and even a teen, the pottery was wonderful. You could go and watch the pottery and cobalt artists at almost any time of the day. There was a lot of pottery to view, and many potters and cobalt artists were there. Now, they've tried to move with the times and keep the doors open through the recession. There is a modern shopping area now where you can buy odd trinkets and goodies for the woman who redecorates her kitchen often. Then, on the far side, there's a glimpse of what the pottery used to be like. It's still worth the trip to see and pick up a bit of pottery. However, it's nothing like it once was.

Best in town for all sorts of home decor, especially if you are looking for a bit of elegance on the cheap. Reasonable spot for candles, arrangements, pottery, and many small design elements that can enhance almost any space. The town of Marshall is a huge disappointment however. That is to say, if you thought you would visit for the small town ambience and gorgeous courthouse lights on the old historic square. So sad that they systematically ruined a beautiful attraction with tacky blow ups, loud generators that power concession trailers, and even a cheaply constructed temporary ice rink. It has lost all of the small town beauty and appeal it once had during the month of December. I am happy to have seen it before it was ruined. Can't think of any good reason to stop in Marshall, while driving through east Tx. Unless you want a good bbq sandwich. Bodacious Barbeque is franchised out. Sometimes they are wonderful...but sometimes not.

We were not impressed with this store. They had some beautiful large pots but we didn't find them any more competitive than Home Depot or Lowe's. They had lots of other gift items. Just not our cup of tea. Definitely not worth having gone out of our way to go there.
