My little girl loves this park! She is small for her age and most of the equipment is just the right size for her. We also love the open areas for just run and play with all of the friends we meet there. There are usually some college students at the park either playing with a disc, or golf. We have even been fortunate enough to see some of the students practicing their fencing there at as well, she loved that most. But there is always plenty of room for the students and for my daughter to run and play. There is a creek that is runs along the back of the park that we like to go and watch. There is a wooden bridge that crosses over to the back parking lot that is very wide and a great place to just sit and watch the water go by. It is a must for us to stop by and play every time we go to Nac.
This park is a nice size for little ones to enjoy on swings and other playground equipment. Also, there are trails to walk extensively and disc golf at this site. Sometimes the parking is taken up by SFA students which is a problem, but you can usually find a spot. The park is home to some extremely tall shade trees and not as much greenery as some trails in Nac. I see folks with their dogs on leashes here but it is not predominantly a dog park. Lots of open space. Enjoy!
The park came to our rescue as a place to let our small kids get their extra-energy out after an early dinner! It's located just across the street from the SFA campus, and we weren't aware of other parks in the area since this was our 1st visit to the Nacogdoches. The playground equipment is old, with mostly metal structures including slides, climbing items, and swings. Our kids enjoyed, but it could use an update at some point :) Those old metal structures can get hot in the summer weather. That said, there's lots of beautiful trees to provide good amount of shade. Park benches and picnic tables are around. A pathwaycan be taken to the back of the park, and a wooden bridge will take you across a little creek bed. There's a disc golf playing course, and plenty of parking in the paved parking lot.
This park has a beautiful grove of pecan trees that provide great shade on a hot day. There are many picnic tables scattered around the entire park. Located across the street from the SFA campus, it provides lots of wide open space for everyone to enjoy. The covered pavilion (short brick wall surrounds it-good for seating) is very nice. Charcoal grills. There is plenty of playground equipment for children to play on. There is a disc golf course and it gets decent reviews.Adequate parking on both end of the park (off Starr Ave, esp). A small bridge to walk on.
