poteet country winery

We had a great time!Found the website's write up to be appealing with the country store and farm life. We were staying in San Antonio for the weekend, but the weather was too wet and cold for outdoor activities. We decided to check out the winery and a couple other small stores in the area. They have a great collection of old windmills on the property, that was an added bonus. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about his wines, after all he is the one making everything. Great small family operation, very friendly and inviting. We tried all of the wines, for free! They were very nice (I typically do not favor the sweet wine, but these were great!) We ended up leaving with some bottles for home. Definitely worth the drive. I know they are gearing up for the big Poteet Strawberry Festival in April, they sell lots of bottles there too.

i loved visiting the winery.. Not only was i able to sample the different wines, and find my favorite, but they have home made candles and its a very neat place to shop...
