Enjoyed the wines at this winery. Would have liked a little more conversation from the owner about the wines, but will go back.
We enjoyed this winery - A little pricey compared to the Wine Seller (the only other winery in Salado) but we appreciated the friendlier service at this winery over the Seller.
Visited with friends. Great selection of wine and very unique. Unfortunately we received horrible service. The woman who helped us was incredibly unfriendly and not helpful at all. After each purchasing a glass and a meat and cheese platter to share, we were ignored the rest of the time. We watched time after time as others were greeted warmly and constantly checked on.
Was able to try 5 wines for I think $5. Owner was very helpful. Need a seating area where you can order a bottle of wine and sit out on the porch in nice weather or inside tables.
a bunch of us girls decided to enjoy their wine tasting and it was great. Katy was so helpful and accomodating. Her suggestions were very helpful and those who were not big wine drinkers were able to find a wine they enjoyed. Try the Lone Star Lemon for something different.
Nice selection of wine, friendly knowledgeable staff, great price on tastings and a relaxing, but fun atmosphere. We have enjoyed every visit.
Two of my friends and I took a road trip from Fort Worth to Salado this past Saturday for some shopping and wine tasting. Out of the three wineries we visited, Salado Creek was by far the best. Atmosphere and knowledge of the wines were spot on. Katy made our visit very enjoyable. She suggested the peach mango sangria to one of us and my friend was crazy about. My other friend and myself had the flights and when we didn't care for the jalapeño pinio she gave us another chance to try. We were all laughing and having a great time by the time we left. She gave us a great recommendation for Mexican food and yes Katy we found the Walmart and ended up staying overnight in Temple! :). Will be back for another visit. P.S. the only reason I didn't give it a 5 rating was that there were several wines that were sold out but that was ok because they had some other good wines. We all came out with a bottle!
My daughter, my sister and I had a wonderful time at Salado Creek Winery. We were shopping our way around Salado and decided to stop in and try their wines - so happy we did. The wines are very good. We had not had lunch and after tasting a few decided we needed nourishment. They have prepared cheese, meat and cracker trays you can purchase and the price was very reasonable. We purchased a tray and moved to a table instead of the "tasting bar" so we could take our time, snack and further enjoy our tasting. Their hostess was a real jewel - Katie has so much personality it would have been a pleasure to just sit and visit with her; we felt we were visiting with one of our best friends. You must try the Lemon Wine, it is awesome, especially for a summer wine.
The best tasting wines of the three wineries that we visited. Friendly servers. We bought three bottles of wine.
We have moved a lot & we were not expecting to enjoy Texas wines but these were very good, even delighting our taste buds. Even more delightful was the wine pourer. She was not only knowledgeable but very nice. They have a room to cater to children even and don't mind if people bring food in eating there to drink with their wine.
Stopped to shop in the town and when most of the ships closed found the tasting room open. The room is open and relaxing. The hostess was very friendly and determined to ensure we had a great experience. My wife did not like one of the wines so she insisted that my wife try another one. A very enjoyable time. Don't miss this. Well worth it.
Loved the wines. I tasted 5 reds and everyone was better then the last! Katy was warm and inviting. Such a huge difference from Rising Star winery.
We stopped to enjoy a wine tasting as we so often do when we get a chance during our travels. They have a nice little shop with tables and seating to enjoy some wine. You are invited to come back and bring your own snack, cheese and fruit tray, etc., to have with their wine. We paid $20.50 for two tastings of 5 wines each. They focus mostly on fruit wines, so I could not say I really enjoyed them. Anyone who loves sweet wines would probably be in love with their selection. The employee, Katy, was very attentive and helpful, and she made our sojourn very enjoyable even if we did not choose to purchase any of their wines.
Welcoming tasting room with tasty wine and a friendly owners and staff. Nice to visit with friends or just with your significant other. My husband and I have made many visits and we always have a nice time. We have seen their wine all over Texas!
I've been here a number of times with friends, and I always have a great time. the staff is friendly, laid-back, and fun, the snacks are good and plentiful, and of course the wine is fantastic! last time I was there I let myself be talked into joining the wine club, after resisting in an effort to be more frugal...but you know what? life is short and wine makes more fun!
