Ok. I can not paint. But I sure left with a beautiful wall hanging. The high energy of the artist teaching the class made me feel comfortable. The idea of classy entertainment in an amazing looking studio AND walking out with your own personal painting makes the entire event an experience to always remember. 5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆
Just like their tagline, Painting with a Twist in Sherman, Texas is a whole lot of fun by yourself, with a friend, a group or team. They even have "Painting with a Purpose" to benefit local and other non-profits. Our local PWAT owner, Tedra Franklin is a fantastic asset to our community.
I am a volunteer for Denison Animal Welfare Groug (DAWG) and the owner contacted me to have our group be the Painting for a purpose! Tons of fun and made $650 for our Trailer for the pound. Thank you for picking us with this great fundraiser!!
This place lets you unleash your inner artist, even if you are not sure there is an inner artist in there! We had great fun following instructions, doing our own interpretion, snacking and talking. But a lot was just fun, relaxing concentration. For our small group of two couples, we chose a classic painting and the teacher did a good job breaking it down so that we could produce something fun. I am not going to quit my day job and take up faking great art, but it certainly made me see the piece we did with different eyes. And it was great fun.
My daughter and myself did this and it was okay. It was neat and different but we won't be going back.
I brought my Mom for Mother's Day this year. Neither of us had been before, but I had heard rave reviews. We had a blast and enjoyed every minute of it! I have been back twice since then and have enjoyed myself both times as well. I think I'm addicted.
I have been several times to Painting with a Twist and it's always been fun. This last time was for my birthday. Had a room full of friends and we had a blast. The staff is always so wonderful and helpful. We fully intend to go back as often as we can.
I've been twice and both times were so much fun! My daughter and sister and I laughed and talked and painted together and came home with something we were proud of. Staff is wonderful and seem to enjoy helping and watching us have fun. Great for birthday parties or just a night out.
I didn't want to go to PWAT, because I can't draw or paint. I gave in and went with some friends and walked out the doors feeling like I was "transformed in to Picasso" I had a great time in a relaxing and fun atmosphere. Our artist, D'Ahn, made it fun and was very helpful. I am so proud of my work that I plan to frame it for my home. THANK YOU PWAT for finding my artistic side...watch out world.
I really liked that they told you tips and the kind employees. My friend loved the experience and I would go every day if it was possible and I also enjoyed the paint quality!!
This class teaches everyone of all ages in all walks of life how to paint AND most importantly how to have fun while they are doing it. I have been with girlfriends, sisters, co-workers, my spouse for date night, my daughters, my neighbor, doesn't matter WHO you go with, JUST GO!!! You will LOVE IT! The staff if super nice and super funny, and great teachers!
I have painted here twice and enjoyed each visit. Lisa is a wonderful instructor and easy to follow her instructions! What a wonderful way to unwind!
Everyone should try this at least once! A great way to spend an evening with friends and then you have your own painting to boot.
I had gone to a Painting with a Twist in the Woodlands about 3 years ago so I was super excited about going to the one in Sherman, TX. BIG disappointment. We had to wait several minutes to get checked in because the lady checking people in that also turned into being the teacher too was just moving slow and chit chatting with other ladies. She made no move at all until 20 minutes after class should have started. Then she talked about 10 minutes trying to be funny. By that time I was already aggravated because we started so late. Also, we had previously picked out a picture to paint and the manager/owner? told the lady that picture might be too difficult to get painted in the length of time that we had (2 hours). We picked another painting so that we would have plenty of time to get through. The instructor really didn't instruct us. She sort of told us to put the first dot for each item in the picture, but I know that a cloud does not look like a straight line and two humps. She didn't tell us how to make our clouds look fluffy. Then she went so fast that it was impossible to get the picture done. Even her picture looked very weak compared to the picture that was the example. However, her watch seemed to work okay when it came time to quit because she didn't go a minute over 9:00 which was supposed to be the ending time. What happened to our other thirty minutes of time that she wasted? I was very disappointed in this class. I learned nothing and my painting was a disappointment. She needs to go to The Woodlands and take one of their classes. Also, the class in The Woodlands had one or two assistants so you didn't have to stop the class if you didn't have enough paint. What a waste of money.
I loved my trips to Painting With a Twist! It's SO much fun, and a great time with friends! You just can't go wrong with PWAT! I have gone a couple of times, and I think it's great that you can see a whole month's worth of paintings at a time, and schedule what you want to paint, on your time table. I have gone once by myself, and once with friends. Both times, I had a blast! Great fun - I highly recommend it!
