I realize this is The Woodlands and there are deer and as such there are ticks but this particular preserve (even close to the front entrance) is full of ticks. We began to walk along the trail and were nearly run over by the cyclists so be aware that there are different trails and some are more popular with cyclists so if you're walking try to avoid those trails. Rookie mistake. The trails are really no different than any other trail in The Woodlands except they're dirt trails which I prefer. My only gripe is the numerous amount of ticks so if you're going to the George Mitchell Nature Preserve, wear tick repellent not just mosquito repellent. Oh and parking can be challenging so if you live close enough, bike or walk over.

This is a small natural preserve in the heart of The Woodlands. There are picnic facilities and nice walking trails and multiple separate biking trails. Pay attention to directions as it is easy to get lost, though you're never too far from civilization!

Love the location; in a suburban master planned community, but you feel out in nature. Love the hike to the pond. Love that you can explore off trail if you so desire.Cons: trail markers can be confusing at certain junctures, bikes, and dogs can disrupt your walk or jog.

Surrounding development is apparently sending excessive water into the park during heavy rains, washing-out several areas - - particularly on the south/Fleming Park side. It is possible to carry a bike across the downed trees and deep trenches, but it is not easy. I felt sorry for a family trying to navigate. I would suggest families stay on the flat Flintridge loop (Main Trail), which also goes by the lake.

well marked trails, The preserve is a great place to walk or bike. Nice to be able to walk in a natural area away from the hustle and bustle.peaceful shady and pretty

I have been lost in these woods and don't recommend at this time because bridges are out and paths are not taken care of at this time. I know they are working on it. Also, the park visitors don't follow the rules about keeping dogs on a leash!!!

Very uncrowded which makes for a nice hike or bike ride through the preserve. Rarely see people here after parking off of Flintridge. Got lost in the bike maze one time that almost led to darkness without a light.

The park is beautiful, the bike trails are fun, but I've also experienced unleashed dogs. They actually chased after me on my bike as well and I had to kick one of them.

I was on my bike and encountered 2 wonderful dog owners that evidently thought they owned they owned the place because their dogs were unleashed - guess I need to start carrying my mace...just in case! Also - why are dogs even allowed here - take them to the million dollar dog parks they built in the Woodlands! I don't mind dogs - its the inconsiderate owners that irritate me!It would be nice if the trails were marked better - I had to look at my phone to see exactly where I was and still managed to find a trail that took me all the way back to Kuykendahl/Woodlands Parkway.

I live within walking distance to the preserve and go there almost daily, and I would just like to say that I have never experienced an aggressive dog, or an "inconsiderate" dog walker. It's the woods, dogs like the woods. People bike on the pedestrian trails quite often, I guess that is also inconsiderate. There are lots of small divergent trails to get lost on and areas where you can find yourself completely secluded if you choose to go off the main path. Anyway, it's a great place and I find all people and animals back there to be friendly, happy, and understanding and appreciative of nature.

If you are looking for a fun hike this is a place to go. We went on a girl scout outing which was fun. They have a map at the entrance and you can decide on which route to take. You can also jog or just walk the path. It also a small pond which has a sign" Beware of Alligator" which we didn't see any.It is something to see if you like hiking and nature.

Still enjoying the trails, both biking and running. Inconsiderate dog walkers are becoming an issue. For the safety of every person and animal, dogs must be on leashes. It is a shame that some people are potentially ruining this park for others. Hopefully signs will be posted soon reminding everyone about both this courtesy and law.

My children brought me here thinking I would enjoy this since I was visiting from Sedona AZ area. This trail was much like the beginning of the trail to Cathedrals, which I go to often. This was so spirit lifting as I always find in nature. Well kept & still color changes seen (after Thanksgiving).

The Preserve is a great walk through the woods. It is an easy walk, jog or bike on a dirt trail. A quick nature fix if you live in the area.

Even though living in The Woodlands means being surrounded by nature and beauty, its still a busy place. When you enter into the preserves walking trails you feel like you've traveled deep into secluded woods. It's beautiful and peaceful. There are different routes. A wonderful place to walk whether for exercise or relaxation.
