What a cool little place in the middle of nowhere. I had the pleasure of visiting the General Store on a Wednesday Steak Night. We were welcomed by two huge turkeys, which was interesting, but they are obviously very comfortable there. The staff members were wonderful & welcoming. The food was amazing and nicely done. The peach cobbler was especially yummy. This is a great place for family and friends. Even the little kids were having a great time running around and enjoying the live music. The band that night was very good too! We spent time indoors listening to the band and also enjoyed the great outdoor space, which was nice & relaxing. It's worth the trip to check out this great establishment!

Visited on Wednesday which is steak night at Waring General Store. Steak was delicious with great peach cobbler. Enjoyed the live music provided by Crooks.

If you have ever wanted to climb a tall structure of telephone poles, ropes, and mesh ladders to the top (while tethered to a harness so you you don't fall and kill yourself) and then rappel back down to the ground; followed by another rope mesh climb up another tower, where you Zip Line 500ft back down...This is for you!Or if you like a nice drive and stroll though the beautiful and scenic Texas Hill Country...This is also for you!The organizers of this program, in conjunction with the Don Strange Ranch and Waring General Store, have created a circuit that is normally reserved for corporate team building exercises or military rehabilitation efforts of wounded warriors.However, when they are not catering to that core business, they open the facilities up to the public, and provide individual and group opportunies to try this challenge.All adventures are concluded with a drive up the scenic country road to the Waring General Store, where you served a cheeseburger, fries, and drink in the historic building.
