Had a really good time for a small water park. Not everything was done at the park but it was still ok. Hope they finish everything for next year.
We have been season pass holders for many years at other H.F. locations. Our first time visiting the White Settlement property and right off the bat, we were NOT impressed. Staff was rude and unorganized starting from the ticket counter to the inside vendors. ONLY 4 slides working, pools are dangerously over capacity and smelled of urine. Total of 25 tubes for 500 people in the park. Bees are EVERYWHERE so if you or your kids are allergic BEWARE. Kids running and falling all over the wet cement. SAVE YOUR MONEY, drive to another location or risk getting disease from the non-chlorinated water. Bathrooms are the worst with no toliet paper and are truly disgusting. Park staff please find a new job, absolutely insulting that someone would actually hire you at a family friendly park. I would give NEGATIVE rating if possible.
Went to HF (White Settlement) yesterday. This is just my opinion - I'll be as objective as possible:Good: Park staff attitude & friendlinessQuiet day so there were hardly any queuesSafety consciousnessPlenty of shade to sit byLarge car park: a golf buggy came to us as we left the park &drove us to our carAverage:Food - burgers, chicken sandwich etc..Range of slidesThe NOT so Good:Price - VERY high for a park that had a limited number of slidesFood servers - Clueless!Wasps - everywhereThe shaded areas have gravel as a flooring which is very difficult to walk on. The grit transfers to the paths, making them hard to walk on too.The grass areas have muddy patches, as the water from the pools runs over them - this gets all over your feet and transfers into the pools - Very badly designedAll the bible quote posters around the park didn't bother me, but this may intimidate others. I felt this was at odds with the loud music selection and chuckled when Gary Glitter tunes played!
Brand new! We live close and bought season passes. It is perfect for families with school aged kids. Not too big and not too small. Teens and college kids will want to head to Hurricane Harbor but, for a mom with kids this is just right. I understand that big groups (daycares) go on Mon/Wed/Fri and it is packed. We have gone on off peak days and it has been nice. The lifeguards and staff seem to be very attentive and enforce rules. This makes a mom happy! The wave pool was so powerful it made me very nervous and I won't let my 7 year old (good swimmer) go in without being an arm's length away- waves are very forceful. They just finished the bathrooms much better than the trailer toilet that was there at opening. I bought a "cooler-pass" for $30- nice to be able to bring in outside food. I think this is a brilliant idea and avoids the need to sneak food in if you prefer healthier options or a picnic lunch. I can't wait to enjoy the attractions still being installed. Parking is free and there is a golf cart shuttle (works for tips) that will drive you up-nice if you have a big cooler and it is 105 and you have 4 kids in tow. They do inspect all bags - no glass, medications, etc allowed; the no meds surprised me- they want you to check in meds (in my case: epi-pen) at their first-aid area. Kind of weird but, I get it-lots of kids and unattended bags. Last reviewer talked about bees- yes, lots of bees. I don't want to kill bees so I kept shooing them away. We had an orange towel the bees couldn't get enough of- maybe there is something that could be done or suggested to wrangle or deter the bees? Maybe not serving sugary sweet snow cones in yellow flower-shaped cups? And not bringing orange towels? This was not enough of a bother for me to mention outside of seeing the last reviewer's comments but, I am not allergic to bee stings. We are, after all, outside-where bees live. The slides are fun. The lazy river is short and without shade. Lots of shade canopies and umbrellas available. Cabanas are available to rent (I haven't done so and have never seen anyone rent them) I do think the rental is way over priced. Overall- I love this little water park, great for locals on a hot day-clean with good staff and life guards.
Seriously, there were bees everywhere. We bought shaved ices and eventually just ended up trashing them because the bees were so attracted to the yellow cups they came in that they were swarming. The park was obviously still very much under construction, and I wish the admission price had reflected that. As far as the rides themselves, they were very fun and we didn't ever have to wait very long for anything. They could do a better job of rounding up unused tubes so that they aren't in the way, but that's a minor thing. My boyfriend did not appreciate that he saw several people go down one particular slide in a single tube and then was told that he could not go down alone. The 5 and 9 year old loved it, but I think they've got some work to do to make this park worth the visit. Hopefully it will be better when they finish construction and open up the rest of the attractions, the main restaurant, and whatever else they've got planned.
