This is a small art museum, but it still has some variety. It's worth a trip because of the free admission, but it is otherwise just average. There is no charge for parking. We missed the Peruvian gold exhibit (which apparently cost money), but we were able to see several different exhibits that filled the various hallways of the center. My favorite part was the series of photographs from Big Bend National Park. There were also prints, paintings, some photographs from other countries, and a section on old children's book illustrations. Plan to spend about 45 minutes here. The outdoor exhibit by the main entrance was under construction/renovation, so we didn't get to see the pretty water portion that is shown on some of the photographs that others posted to TripAdvisor. The orchestra was rehearsing when we were there and the door was open, so we were able to listen to them play while looking at the illustrations portion near the theater.

We went to see the Peruvian Gold exhibit. Irving and Washington DC are the only places in the United States to have this come to them. It's there until the end of December. My daughter and I enjoyed it a lot and also liked the attached gift shop.

Friends and I attended the "David Small World" exhibit sponsored by The National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature in this venue. It was fabulous. Not only is the Irving Arts Center a lovely, well-lit building, the small sculpture garden was delightful, and the exhibit we came out to see was well organized and lots of fun to meander through. We took lots of pictures, and thoroughly enjoyed a morning childhood dreams and books. Now, I'll happily watch for other exhibits to come to this welcoming, multi-use place.

The Symphony performed several selections that were obliquely related to Italy, but the real connection was the guest pianist from Italy, who performed Rhapsody in Blue. The acoustics are good but not great. The orchestra could be clearly heard and appreciated, but when the conductor used the microphone it was difficult to hear and understand him. Overall, it was a pleasant evening.

This was our second visit to the Irvings Arts Center and we were impressed by the facility and the quality of the performance. The Center itself has relatively easy parking although not enough handicapped parking. There is great visibility from any seat and the accustics are very good. Overall it was a pleasent afternoon in an excellent venue.

I had balcony seating to enjoy a concert watching my wife perform. The IAC is an excellent venue to enjoy the symphony.

We much enjoyed the Irving Arts Center where we saw a musical put on by the Lyric Stage. The Crawford theater is a good size. The musical was enjoyable. We will return in the future for other productions here. We come to Dallas for the Dallas Opera, but the Irving Arts Center offers a pleasant way to spend another evening.

The show that we saw there was a Elvis show with Kraig Parker & Ben Portsmouth. It was a Great show. The Arts Center was out of sight place.

This very diverse facility offers a number of interesting and enjoyable arts experiences. There is a smaller community playhouse, and a large concert hall that hosts a range of musical productions. In addition, the gallery has displays and exhibits from both local and visiting artists year round. Well worth a visit.

This is a great venue for a wide variety of musical performances and plays. Not huge, so performances seem pretty intimate. Also, there are sculpture and water exhibits outside and a gallery inside.

This review pertains only to the Carpenter Performance Hall - not the overall Irving Arts Center.I went here to hear the Irving Symphony at the Carpenter Performance Hall. It is a relatively small theater with very average decor and seating. There is ample parking. There is an art gallery attached to the main lobby with was decent. There was limited food and drink availability. The overall vibe was that of an average college theater - nothing fancy or impressive. The acoustics were average. The symphony itself was surprisingly average and the second violins were, frankly, dreadful - worse than some college symphonies. My wife and I cringed when they had prominent passages in the music. We may go back to the Carpenter Hall if there was a group we were VERY interested in hearing. We would not go back to hear the symphony.

Excellent place to catch a musical performance. Nice seating with good sight lines. The theater is able to draw excellent talent, and from time to time puts on some rarely-seen shows.

I stopped by to see an exhibit in the gallery then found there are more than one galleries. Also there is a beautiful sculpture garden completed with waterfalls. The building is welcoming and beautiful. I also saw a ballet performance on stage in the very comfortable theatre. Performances are for a small charge but gallery exhibits are free.
