I took my niece and my two sons to the Texas Motor Speedway, as my niece is a huge fan. I was expecting to be bored, but I got a surprise. The visit was amazing. Stan was our tour guide, and he was knowledgeable and personable. The gentleman running the gift shop (JR, I think) was also very helpful and great. Thank you for a wonderful visit, and I highly recommend stopping by even if you are not a Nascar fan.
Everything is bigger in Texas and this place will leave you breathless and keeps on growing, hillbillie come and have fun
I stopped by and did the track tour. It was a great experience! I can't rave anymore about Bob, the tour guide. He was so informative and nice
We drove through the Christmas display here. We went after Christmas, before New years. Was not crowded at all. We were able to take our time and enjoy the display. The lights were incredible. The kids enjoyed the Grinch and olaf characters. Would highly recommend.
We drove through the Speedway to see the Christmas lights displays. It was $20 per car and a long line if you don't get there a bit early! The kids loved it, especially the person dressed up as a grinch running through the displays. For us adults it wasn't as extravagant as we expected and definitely a one time thing! I would suggest this if you have kids to entertain and especially if it's too cold to walk around a neighborhood. I did like how at the end of the drive you could get out of the car, get hot chocolate and popcorn and take pictures with Santa. The Santa was very real-looking and professional ($20 per photo).
We went to drive through the Christmas lights. It was $15 per car and the Marines accept toys or cash donations. It took about 20 minutes and you get to five around the inside of the stadium (if that's the right word) where you would normally walk to go to the restrooms or concession stand. The lights were better if you looked far ahead so you could figure out what they were. The coolest part was towards the end when you are back outside and get to ride through a tunnel of lights!
I know this is NASCAR and most people don't care for it. Your either like it or u don't. This is one place you have to go regardless of your decent. The place is awesome!! The midway is fun! Camping in the infield is a must!! You might just see some of the drivers roaming around too! The people, the sounds, the vibrations.. Words can't describe how great it is. Sure getting in and out is a little annoying and trying to find your car in the great sea of parking spaces makes the strongest man almost cry. That being said what can expect from a place that holds upwards of 200,000 people that regularly has crowds of 150,000. Here's a few tips.. There's a dominoes pizza and walmart about a mile way. Get your pizza and beer there and bring it in, just no glass beers. And if you like to take risk, purchase the cheapest tickets and find your way up to the good ones. They don't really check..
Traffic is horrible but it probably is with any race track venue. It is a long walk to your car though.
The people at the track were very nice and the displays were fun. Got a couple of free T-shirts and scalped some tickets for great seats.
it was cool. Food was overpriced but that was to be expected. You are allowed to bring in your own food and drinks. So, that is cool.
Lots of parking and great BIG BIG screen to view cars on the whole track all the time. This is a great race track.
If you have never been to a NASCAR race then Texas Motor Speedway would be an excellent "first'. This is a first class facility. Lots of free parking and that is usually at any sporting event in this day and time. Largest TV screen in the world. The best seats in the place are in the upper decks and if you look for special pricing you can usually find a great deal. The race just a few days ago was fantastic, including some after the race activity that made several national television networks. The concession, stand and rest rooms are all first class. There is a lot to do before the races including visiting the pits if you have a pit pass or browsing though all the race car vendor trucks parked outside the track. If any negative it is the high prices for food, but on the other hand that is kind of expected these days.
Texas Motor Speedway is always fun and holds several events throughout the year. We've visited twice in the last three months, in Sept for the Red Bull Air Races, and then in Nov for NASCAR. Staff is always friendly, trash is never an issue, and we always have a good time. I recommend any event they host! :)
Great racetrack and we had lots to fun watching our friend race. Wonderful weather and a great race.
In my opinion, this is one of the nicer venues on the NASCAR circuit. They have really spared no expense to make this track an "experience" rather than "just going to a race". The facilities are very well taken care of, and there's always a good race at this speedway. There's more than enough parking at the track and it's very easy to get TO the track. Leaving is another story, as it's very easy to get into the wrong flow of traffic and be routed the complete opposite way of where you're wanting to go. My advice would be to plan ahead and look at all the "traffic flow maps". If you're wanting to go see a NASCAR race, your money would be well spent going to TMS.
