A very cute and fun place for smaller children. A playground area and wildlife-type exhibit. Has a candy store inside as well with a lot of old time favorites. Good place to take children for an afternoon.

It's all free. It has a wonderful play area and wildlife museum. They also have a great little candy store.

Starting at the pleasant volunteer at the front door to the last exhibit, this is a fun visit.Building dies not look very large, but it is jammed with multiples of stuffed animals. Common and exotic games, birds and fish of an endless variety. At the end of the self tour (well before a gift shop) is a replica of an early grocery store that people 50+ might remember, but kids will be amazed that it was so small. Ahhh different times.Highly recommended.

My grand daughter loved this place. She enjoyed the museum and loved the play area. She had a piano lesson very close to the museum so we went almost every week. The only drawback is that it closes at 5 pm. That didn't give her enough time to play after school.

The museum had many animal mounts from African safaris.Great displays and amazing animals. There was also a countrystore museum like the original Brookshire's store. Interesting

Brookshire's has done an excellent job on this museum. It takes you back in time. Great for the entire family. I think it is an excellent place for the grandparents to take their grandkids and then they can show them what it was like and share memories.

FREE and the kids(and adults) love it! Several hundred different animals from around the world, all mounted and some in their native habitat. Educational and interesting for all ages. I bought some Mary Janes (candy) and all sorts my childhood items. Figure on at least 2 hours.

We love coming here and exploring the many animals. We love the park as well. It is a play area for all ages. The best part is it's all Free!

We were with a travel group. It is a very interesting place, lots of history. The old store, the taxidermy of native animals on display with dialog is well worth the stop. Wished I could have stayed longer.

What I liked was it was free and interesting for children. The playground outside was excellent. I'm not much for "dead animal" exhibits but it wasn't bad and my granddaughter had a great time.

I have been to lots of wildlife museums but this is the best and most complete. Best of all - it's free! They have a wonderful array of animals and nice replica of a old school country store. Absolutely visit this destination.

My wife and I have lived in the Tyler area for years and never went to the museum until our grandkids visited. The museum is very well maintained with especially friendly people to help. Nice exibits and clean restrooms.Hopefully you take time to really explore the example of an early grocery store within the building. We were even fortunate enough to have someone working that day that grew up in a similar store and gave us a 20 minute overview of the store. If you grew up in the rural south during the 1950’s you most likely bought groceries from a store just like this…brings back memories.Be sure to browse the gift shop before you leave and pick up some of the candy that is hard to find today. The adjacent playground is very well maintained with newer equipment. Consider bringing a picnic lunch and let the kids/grandkids enjoy the day. And, I got to tell ya’…it’s not bad for old folks either. Next time the grandkids are in town, we’ll be back!

Don't trust your GPS to get you there - we got lost on the way, and had to call the museum for directions. It's right next to the Brookshire's Corporate Office - go there, and you'll see the museum. It's a great roadside attraction with an EPIC playground for the kids. The taxidermy was a little unnernerving to me, but my husband liked it. The old-timey grocery store was really cool! All in all, a fun, weird roadside attraction. Definitely stop by if you're in Tyler!
