Nice 3.5 in and out trail. No bathrooms available. It is shaded for the most part - so that's nice in the Texas summers. I wouldn't recommend wearing headphones as the trail isn't very wide and you need to be able to hear the cyclists coming behind you.

Whether a resident of Dallas or just visiting, find some time to visit this great trail through the city. Whether walking, jogging, biking or rollerblading along, the trail is perfectly tuned for the city. A few stops along the way offer water or access to a few parks near by. The Dallas police monitor the trail and there are trail markers along the way. Great place to relax, take the dogs, or meet up with friends.

Katy trail is a great place to run. Use the buddy system at night anywhere you run. You are able to see the American Airlines up close and personal.

Took the bus to the start of the trail, it's a long walk, needs more signage as to where you are and where to stop for coffee etc! one does pass by a few bbq type restaurants/pubs, but think a coffee shop or two would have a great patronage. No public toilets along the way that we could see.

This is a VERY popular uptown attraction. I lived nearby so would ride my bike on Katy Trail frequently. People will even use the trail to go to the local bars/pubs/restaurants that are lining the Katy Trail. Be careful on the trail listening to head phones to loud, be aware of your surroundings, bikes fly by and you can get hurt.

With movements in many cities to bring biking and hiking trails to town, this one has to be one of the best. It connects many of the tourist areas together, has restaurants and bars on the way, and offers great nature views and exercise. What else could you ask for? There are always buff joggers mingling with the people that live in the surrounding downtown apartments and condos.

Katy trail is a perfect place to get some good cardio exercise, watch people and grab a bite to eat and have a drink... and there are some really nice views of Dallas.

Lovely spot to get out and enjoy the sunshine! Huge walking/biking trail through Dallas. Roller bladders, walkers, runners, dog walkers, all sorts of folks out and about. We even bumped into a "hiking yoga" class and were invited to join them!

Considering that Dallas has virtually no sidewalks anywhere outside of downtown, it's nice that they have this dedicated running/walking/biking trail. The only downside is you can't just walk out your front door and start running--you have to get there first.

The Katy Trail is a well-maintained concrete/asphalt trail that runs from near the American Airlines Center through Uptown to Highland Park, blocks from the SMU campus. It's a little over 7 miles round trip. Very popular with runners/joggers, walkers/dog-walkers, bicyclists, the occasional in-line-skater, even seen unicyclists. There are 16+ access areas and two very popular restaurants right on the trail: The Company Cafe and the Katy Trail Ice House. Within a few blocks all along the trail are restaurants and shops. Great way to enjoy the day and get some fresh air.

It a great outdoor space in Dallas. It's ideal for a walk, run or bike ride. There are even a few bars on the trail if you need that type of hydration.

I just went walking on the Katy Trail for the first time in a visit to Dallas last weekend. I loved it! It feels very safe, because there are wide trails, mile markers, lots of company, and so on. And even though the trail is totally protected from traffic, there is still a lot to see and access: There is a variety of restaurants, including some with lively outdoor patios and bars. There are shops, skyscrapers, a river, and a park. Local businesses seem pretty nice about letting you use their restrooms, which is good because I didn't see any on the trail. Totally fun afternoon. The only issue I saw was that parking seems to be at a premium. Also, there are dogs EVERYWHERE, which could be a plus or a minus for you.

Excellent trail that runs from Highland Park to Victory Promenade in downtown Dallas, it is about 3 to 4 miles. This was the old Katy Railroad track that has been revamped to a concrete and soft surface biking and walking trail. We have always felt safe walking on the trail which winds in between housing and businesses. It is a fabulous addition to Dallas.

I absolutely adore Katy trail! Just wish it was wider, longer, and offered a gravel trail. Weekends get crowded so prepare to deal with walkers and strollers. If nothing is happening at AA center, then park at the Audi garage for free.
