I was lucky enough to go during a beautiful 60 degree afternoon in January. We walked the trail and stopped every now and then to take pictures or to just take in the beauty of the outdoors. I took several photos of the water, the bridge, and the trees. According to my FitBit, we walked about 3 miles. I don't remember the name of the trail or if it had a name.My only complaint is that the trail led to nowhere. I wished it had gone in a circle. We ended up just further in the woods and walked back. This is a nice place to come to get some walking done or bike riding done, while getting in touch with nature.
So many things to do. Lots of walking trails and biking trails - fun for many different interests - physical or not.
Wow! What an amazing park. The facilities were clean and the park well kept. There were plenty of trails and we really loved the trails that ran down by the Trinity River.
This is one of the nicest parks we have been too. It has beautiful greenery and lots of areas to spread out. It has several nature trails and a center to learn about animals and wildlife. Lots of variety here. There are several nice playgrounds here too.
The park was beautiful and i actually had a bobcat walk out of the woods, it went right past me! It was an amazing experience but the park needs some more upkeep.
I visit this park quite often, they have a good playground, and good running paths. Also, if you mountain bike, they have probably the best (quite extensive) trails in Arlington - I highly recommend them.
Really great place to come for the day. Relaxing trails, nice playgrounds, and many pavilions for gatherings. There are security cameras everywhere so that early morning run feels a bit more secure. This park has something for everyone! I would check it out if your in the area.
Away from all the other teaming attractions that Arlington is known for, River Legacy Park really stands above the rest. The park is Texas beautiful and offers so many activities to choose from - walk, run, bike, picnic, play, explore, relax, and enjoy! Parking is plentiful and the city has done a masterful job maintaining this peaceful escape along the Trinity River.
River Legacy Park is a place for everyone, picnickers, walkers, runners, bikers, adults, kids. Be sure to visit the Living Science Center for great live and informational exhibits about the local environment. It revives the spirit to get away from city living and connect with nature.
I walk here often and it works. Traveling a lot I get to experience many beautiful parks and for our immediate area this is the one. People walk, ride bikes and can bring their dogs, too which is nice. The park also house an educational science center. It is conveniently located for most.
This park has something for EVERYone. There are playgrounds, hiking and biking trails, pavilions and even a Nature Center. It's a beautiful place that cannot be truly appreciated in a one day visit.
This is a huge park with beautiful trails and playgrounds, ducks, and a pavilion. Probably more than one pavilion, but went there for a walk to benefit an organization so I stayed with the walkers. I was impressed with lots of trails and plenty of parking, plus where we were was well designed for a large meeting. It seemed to be well laid out and could have been several hours of fun and walking/running/biking in the sun.Truly a park to visit if you enjoy to enjoy the out of doors without being constantly surrounded by people. While there were trees, it seemed like the trails were designed well to be pretty safe if by oneself.
I lived in Arlington for several years, and used to visit this park several times a week. It is fairly large, and has two main entrances: the southern (and main) entrance is near Green Oaks Blvd & Cooper St, and the eastern entrance is off of N Collins St (north of NE Green Oaks Blvd). The park contains playgrounds, large fields, BBQ pits, and a number of paved and unpaved trails that can be used for walking, running, or cycling. The main paved trail leads through the wooded areas alongside the Trinity River, and is a total of 14.0 miles in length. The park itself is very well maintained, and is always clean and well-taken care of. It is great for walking dogs (which must be on a leash at all times!) or simply enjoying nature. When the weather is nice, the park gets very packed, especially on the weekends. The best time to go is thus on weekday mornings, when only a select few people are around. This park is a true gem in an otherwise never-ending sea of strip-malls and apartment complexes that we call Arlington.
Walking or biking, paved or dirt trails, this is a fun park. We take our dogs walking here. The only issue we've ever had is when walking the dogs along the dirt trails at times there are folks on bikes either going the wrong direction on the trail or taking the wrong trail that bikes should not be on. Otherwise, this is a great place.
An oasis for everyone: jog gets to school children. Interesting exhibits, acres of park land, and green everywhere.
