went to attend the broadway show Million Dollar Quartet here. parking was easy and free! we had great seats close to the stage about 7 rows back but was difficult to hear the speaking parts of the actors clearly. the singing mics were good and loud enough. this could be a great venue but they need some work on this issue.
Okay civic center. Participated at a wrestling tournament. Bathrooms were disgusting and were too small for a civic center.
We host an annual party for the MHMR consumers in one of the large banquet halls. The staff provides everything we need to make a successful event, from cold storage to plentiful waste receptacles. This event has always brought praise from both the MHMR staff and the consumers, and a huge part of our success is the nice facilities and excellent support from the Civic Center staff.
Very nice facility for hosting a rodeo. The arena is designed so all of the seats have a good view. There are plenty of restroom facilities and parking was adequate. The trade/vendor show was very nice. Had a lot of vendors with a huge variety of things to look at and/or buy.
My wife and Grand-Daughter-in-law wanted go to the craft show while we were visiting over the First of November weekend. The Civic center is easy to find and the parking was close and available. The access to the building is good and the inside is very spacious. The restrooms were also very clean which can sometimes be a problem in these large multipurpose centers. If you are interested in attending an event there I did not experience a downside.
This is a nice facility - well maintained, and kept very clean. The only disappointment was the concessions. A very poor selection of items (Limited to hot dogs, polish sausage, popcorn or nachos - not even a bag of chips available!) and prices so high the workers should have a bandana over their faces.
Outdoor Expo 26 & 27 Jul, Amarillo Civic Center, South HallNot worth the money (or my time)We were expecting a large outdoor show and after we paid our $5 entry fee, 9 minutes later we exited the show. It was very small, not what I expected, won’t be going back there again without doing my homework a little better. On a better note, the Peddlers show in the North Hall was really great, spent an hour in there. The Civic Center was clean everywhere we went, not their fault the show was a dump.
Popcorn .....hockey....my 1st Game ever and the Amarillo Bulls WON!!!!!.Did not like the lack of kids getting towels & t's. Why not PUC's soft one's?
A rodeo where actual ranch hands display their skills that are used in daily ranch life. (No bull riding here- there isn't a good reason to ride a bull that I know of??). We've been to this one many times but always look forward to seeing it when schedules will allow. The trade show is worth it though even if you don't see the rodeo. Lots of great crafts, art and commercial exhibits as well.
We have been several events in the Civic Center and each one was set up nice. The center is located downtown, easy to find, clean and well kept, plenty of parking which is well lighted. The Center is a multi-purpose convention center. It consists of multiple facilities for various events such as crafts, antiques, gun shows, including 2,848-seat auditorium with 2,324 permanent seats and used for concerts, Broadway shows and other events. We liked it so much we now have season tickets for the Broadway shows.
Easy to located and great parking. Went there for the Farm and Ranch Show. Great Show Also the World Championship Ranch Rodeo and Trade Fair.
This is a remarkable event center for a city of this size. Always kept clean and well lit. Plenty of parking and centrally located, convenient to other businesses and retail.
Lots of events, we went for a Gem and Mineral show and there was also a Gun Show and a Christmas Bazaar, so it was a full day out. Very clean, plenty of parking and easy to find.
I've been to all types of events here--craft shows, roller derby, etc and it seemed like good place for these events. It is centrally located downtown and easy to find. It is also located across from the performing Arts building.
i went for a convention, the bathrooms were clean with all the people, but i had to leave and drive a mile away just to get to an atm. very inconvienent
