The museum is hardly conducive to a great experience. I did value my time and seeing the many antiques of the area or brought to the area. Although, the warehouse type museum and lighting was poor. I understand the environment needs to be just right to preserve the antiques, but I have been to better museums in Cheyenne and around the world. I actually think the environment is not the best for preservation. This is based on my experience and knowledge at other museums and how they keep the environment. The cost is free, but they ask for a minimum donation of $5 per person. I paid the $5, but reluctantly based on my experience. Not highly recommended, but it was nice to see the antiques and for something to do. Oh, the building doesn't look like a museum. If you see the sign, museum, you found it.Enjoy!
This Museum is such a surprise. Great collection of western memorabilia. Love the collection of saddles. Many historic wagons and this museum provides an incredible view of the early life of Wyoming ranchers. Thanks to the Messengers for sharing their passion for western history.
One of the most intersting museums of horse drawn carriages we have visited. Extensive collection of restored carriages, providing a wonderful history of Cheyenne. The only drawback are the hours of the museum which vary from day to day.
The museum is housed in a storage facility. When you first enter, there is a small room of artwork and other artifacts on display, but when you continue on, you'll enter a large room filled with historic carriages and automobiles from the early 1900s. Nicely done.
Very well presented and very good at the underlying message. All rights reservedu for the delay in responding to your account details and to the UK in the morning
We almost didn't find this at first. But, look closer....it is IN the Cheyenne Storage building. This is a private collection of lots of memorabilia but mainly various Wagons. It was very interesting. Doesn't take a ton of time to go through. There is a video to watch as well. Price is by donation only so you get to decide!
Really a great little museum, packed with lots of Western history. The exhibits are authentic and put you back in time. There are so many interesting, documented items, you can spend a couple of hours just wandering around the original stage coaches, antique automobiles, mining & ranching equipment. Included are movies about various horse hitches, including the beautiful horses & hitches of the Messenger Family, who have competed for many years as top contenders in hitch competitions & parades. The entire family is involved with the breathtaking Percheron Draft Horses and are world reknown for their winnings in the Draft Horse Show world. The Museum is free, and donations are accepted. Do not miss this wonderful exhibit!!!!
This is a small, free museum that has several antiques from the late 1800s. There are some horse carriages, a blacksmith shop, a working kitchen, and a few old cars are some of the artifacts displayed. I enjoyed the large collection of stone arrowheads. The museum is located in the Cheyenne Storage building. Nice museum, but don't think you're missing anything is you don't visit.
