I have been to Cheyenne Frontier Days numerous times in the past and if you haven't seen it before, it is something you want to see. The rodeo is great entertainment for the entire family. The night shows are fun and they bring in big name groups to perform. The chuckwagon races and the wild horse races are also fun to watch. This is something you should see in your lifetime.
As a point of reference I have been to many rodeos over the years and this rodeo was by far the best I have ever seen. It is spectator friendly not necessarily contestant friendly which means the events are much more difficult for the cowboys here. The concerts we saw were both excellent with huge crowds.
We had a great time at the rodeo and Frontier Days. We did the Parade which was a lot of fun. Did the pancake feed with 10,000 of our friends. That was an amazing event. Not a long wait and the whole feed was ran very smooth. Everyone in Cheyenne were very friendly. This was an amazing trip.
Easy access, misters for the summer crowd, awesome show. The rodeo was constant entertainment. Riders, pyrotechnics, bulls, broncos, fast horses...what can I say.
Attending the Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD) was great opportunity to see a rodeo at its best. The action is non stop. . . they have been doing this for some time. The live entertainment in the evening was fantastic as well. Good venue
Competitions from nationally ranked riders. Concerts from well known country artists and many attractions on the grounds as well as in Cheyenne. Very friendly and fun place to visit.
LOVED the Frontier Days Rodeo's that we attended. We absolutely love going to rodeos and this one does have them all beat. I could have went every day had I had the time. Well done!!!
If you are ready to rodeo, this town is ready to party! Great rodeo, overpriced food (what's new) and if you have young children be prepared to leave early as we stayed for 2 hours and it was just hitting halfway in the program. They have two paid parking lots set up for $10 a car, they bus you to the rodeo/fair and the fee of $3 per person at the gate is waived with the parking lot fee. Which for our family actually meant that we saved $5...not a bad deal and after seeing the parking situation around the rodeo, we were really glad that we took the bus! Typical bleacher seats, but most are in the shade which is huge if you are sitting for 2-4 hours in the July sun. We've checked this one off our "Most see in our life time" list!
do not book tickets on line if you are a first timer...I was and not impressed with seats without having a view of the stands and infield
We went to two rodeos this week, one on Thursday and then the finals on Sunday. The Thursday "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" rodeo was fun, with the clown and all the banter - but the Sunday finals were astonishing, showcasing some of the best rodeo riders in the world. What amazing skill! This is truly the Daddy of 'em All.
Second time I've been, would not hesitate to go back. What a fantastic spectacle. These people certainly know how to put on a show !The parade downtown was just brilliant. As for the rodeo itself, always something going on, so plenty to see. The Indian village is awesome.Park and rides are well laid out.Seen a few allegations of animal cruelty at this rodeo, I saw absolutely no evidence of this, all the animals appeared well cared for, well fed and watered, and well treated.Perhaps surprising for such an event was the fairly low price of food and drink inside the arena.Normally with such a captive market, prices are astronomical
The Rodeo was excellent; it is truly one of the best in the world. The planning and execution, the volunteers meant that a very complex series of events were carried off without a hitch [pun intended.]The entertainment the last four nights was basically ruined by a horrible sound system. The music and particularly the base was so exceedingly loud that it was difficult even to hear the vocalists! This was a real disappointment. But, to repeat, the rodeo itself is a "five star" event.
What a great time we had at the "daddy of them all." We took in the bucking tours which were very informative including a talk from the stock contractor. We have attended the rodeo before, but if you get a chance to attend on finals Sunday, it is well worth it. If you want to see entertainment and lots of talk between events from the announcer, attend a day other than finals sunday. If you want to see several hours of back to back, no commercial interruptions rodeo from top notch cowboys and cowgirls, finals sunday is the day to go. With all the shuttle parking and the way they promote off site parking, one would think parking is a disaster around frontier park, but that is not the case. Plenty of street parking in a clean safe neighborhood with no more than 1/2 mile walk to the park. Indian village is very entertaining as well as the carnival and exhibits behind the grandstand. If they could improve one thing, there appeared to be a lot of confusion from fans on where their seats were, and people sitting in open seats since theirs were taken. If you want to see a good rodeo, I highly recommend Cheyenne Frontier Days.
Loved ever minute we spent at the grounds - from the championship bullriding, to the rodeos, to the Indian Village to the old Frontier Town. We also had plenty of places to shop for souvenirs and mementos. We appreciated the Park and Ride option, too. For cowboys like us - we were in heaven!
We went to the parade and the rodeo on opening day. If this hasn't been on your bucket list, add it! The parade is FULL of horses, easily hundreds of them, which I could enjoy watching for hours! We had plenty of room to sit and watch them go by. We got rodeo seats in the grandstand behind the chutes, a must! We were pretty high up but everyone could easily see the bulls, broncs and cowboys. It's really fun to go down and watch the cowboys work the chutes behind the grandstand as well. There is constant action during this rodeo, no downtime. Be sure to dress the part...jeans, boots and a hat are a must!! Also enjoyed the kids' area, the "bean" sandbox and where the kids could brush/saddle/halter their own "horse". Very fun after the rodeo was done. I loved this, and my kids (aged 4 and 8) did, too!!!
