Although it was late winter, this was still a lovely area to walk and explore. The viewing area in the visitor center gave you a great view of the pond and surrounding marsh.
Great place to relax, take a walk, be outside. See birds and wildlife along the Rio Grande. Stroll, hike, bicycle aong the trails.
Best to visit when they open if going in the summer because it's pretty darn hot otherwise. Love this little secret - not overwhelmed with people and a nice getaway off of Rio Grande. Kids love the exhibit and learning about nature.
A wonderful walk/run/bike trail along the Rio Granda River. Not sure how long the trail is but it goes on for miles and miles giving anyone a chance to get a good work out or go for a short stroll. Highly recommend!

Turtles swim in a pond in front of the visitor's center where there are chairs for long term watching. The path along the canals provide lots of bird sightings and some small animals will be around, too.
No dogs allowed, but otherwise a great a place for a nice quiet walk. Flat, which is a rarity in ABQ, a couple different trails to choose from + a nice duck pond with a built in blind for viewing.
Everyday I would take a 5 mile walk along the trails, Eco system is beautiful. Bring your camera you never know what animal you might see. You can also bike on these trails too. Make sure you also have plenty of water with you and a few snacks
We took our grandson with us to the park to see the beautiful sights and had a wonderful time. The area feels very safe and there is always quite a diverse crowd meandering through the park. It is easy to maneuver a stroller through lovely flora and fauna to observe along your way and very kid and family friendly..
Numerous waterfowl visible during our late December visit. Easy walking on well marked trails including a short walk to the river. Offers youth education activities during the summer months. The Welcome Center has an enclosed viewing room facing the pond. The educational displays are well done and suitable for all ages.
Relaxing, beautiful and a great bird watching experience! Saw tons of sand hill cranes and roadrunners!
The viewing window out to the pond is just terrific, as are the nearby walking trails near the Rio Grande. Lovely.
This park is delightful. Quiet, out of the way and beautiful, it has everything Nature delivers in this area of the state of New Mexico. The learning centers on site are benches out in the open with labels on all plants/trees.You can meander along the trails, hike over the small bridge over the Acequia into wide open spaces. A duck blind shows the native species in abundance. The Park offers a small visitor center, too. Lots of parking, as well.A nice quiet morning or afternoon in Nature! What could be better?
This park is a great local place to get away from the concrete of the city. With paved or graveled paths that meander along the city next to big trees, connecting to many of the city's other great spots. Ie: The Botanical Gardens, The Zoo, Oldtown, North Valley and South Valley. I believe the bike path extends north to south for about 17 miles and connects with several junctures to other bike paths running west to east. A gentle relaxing ride or walk. A the nature center enjoy watching the ducks and turtles.
a lovely place for a stroll among the trees in Albuquerque' southside of town. A quiet place to get away from the noise of the city and the traffic.
