Had been wanting to try this place since summer but too busy. Now that crowds are less it was a great place to grab a beer and a bite. They have happy hour every day from 4-6 and have 2$ pints and 5$ apps. We had the 1/2 lb meatball served in a black iron skillet with sauce and crostini. Very tasty. The buffalo fries with blue cheese crumbles were too spicy and I like hot. Next time we go I'm going to try the burger, it looked great. Good place to watch some football and grab some beers and appetizers at great prices!!
What a wonderful day, and excellent course. For this time of year and weather NJ has had they have done a great job taking care of the course. The Policeman held a strong event for all the right reasons. Carts have a flat screen GPS onboard very nice, interesting layout of the course makes the round fun! Recommend!
I'll start my review by stating that I do belong to a private club and I'm an average golfer (14 HC). I played Blue Heron Pines with 3 other family members on Aug 4. To begin, the practice facilities are great...driving range, chipping area/green and a putting green. The course was in absolutely beautiful shape! Fairways were perfect, rough was decent (and lush) and the greens were fair (albeit a little bumpy, but still pretty good). It was a Monday morning, so the greens were probably still a bit bumpy from the weekend traffic. The layout is challenging, but fair. Club selection off the tee needs to be thoughtful, but you will still go driver on almost all holes. All in, this is a great course with some great holes and a very attentive, nice and welcoming staff. I would strongly encourage anyone to play here. I will definitely do so again. Only a 20 minute drive from the 9th St. bridge out of OC. Con: The GPS's in the carts are not very good.
Went with a foursome, beautiful golf course, pleasant interactions with staff, all in all a great time.Golf course was in great shape. Would return for another round.
Great deal on golfnow.com to play for $60. Played in under 3 hours by myself starting at 7am. Excellent maintenance, very interesting course layout. Highly recommend!
Just played the Blue Heron Pines Course begining of October. It's now one of Ron Jaworski's courses and the first thing he did was cut down all the ball eating tall grass and folialge that lined the fairways. Now it's a pleasure to play! The greens are challenging and the 15th hole has you doing double takes, ( it's a par five through a desert that plays like a par 8). The staff is friendly and they don't look down their nose at you if you're not a scratch golfer. I loved the course and I will be back, even if it is an hour away.
Course was in pretty good condition. We played during a heat wave so not many golfers present. We played in under four hours. Great service. Many sand bunkers.
This is one of the best public golf courses in New Jersey. The course was very well maintained. The fairways were in great shape, the greens were excellent and the bunkers have the right amount of sand. Each hole was very scenic, tree lined and fairway bunkers. The course is very challenging yet very fair as the fairways are typically wide enough to offer some leeway for off center shots. There are water and bathrooms available at several locations on each of the nine holes. The starter was wonderful and so were the staff in the pro shop and restaurant. I highly recommend this course for anyone looking for a golf vacation in the Atlantic City area.
This and Harbor Pines are similar. Both are attentive to maintaining above average golf facilities as well as providing great venues for affairs as well as dining.
