I have a charge on my statement from this resort and nobody can tell me what it's for. I was told the only ones that can answer me are account payable department and they have a voicemail only and never returned any of my messages. I have tried endlessly to get the name of a General Manager but they don't seem to care.

I took the wife and kids to the Crystal Springs Lodge for 2 night getaway in late December. The Biosphere was outstanding and the food was excellent. Perfect to lay around this tropical setting and relax with a full Spa or take a quick shuttle to the sister resort minerals for more activities..A bit in the expensive side but they do have coupons and discounts available.. Worth the $$$

On 12/17/14 I purchased a $250 gift card for my sister and her husband to use at the resort. Due to an unfortunate and personal unexpected situation my sister will not be able to use the gift card. I called the very next day on Dec 18th to cancel and get a refund, the desk clerk could not help but said a manager would tells me that they will not refund me for the $250 gift card.My sister got married here in Feb 2014, my parents probably spent close to $50k on the entire wedding weekend. We had a great time, the wedding was amazing but this is ridiculous. You cannot refund me for a $250 gift card... seriously?!?! Never giving them another ounce of my business. Money sucking, unprofessional business practice - I am no longer a Client.

Luxurious property in western NJ that offers a pampered experience and fantastic amenities. From golf and horseback riding to the biosphere for year round swimming to a relaxing spa. Outstanding food options. Good local attractions to round out the experience

My wife and I stayed here for a wedding for 1 night. The location is fine - not much around except for this resort which is what you go here for. Our room was big - separate shower/toilet room from the sink, nice desk area and the bedroom. The decor was great - modern and new. My favorite part of the room was the bed - it had a memory foam mattress and pillows. Very, very comfortable. The facilities are also really nice. Plenty of parking that is free. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend for a short or long stay.

Played the Ballyowen course with some friends on saturday, 10/18. The course is in nice shape. The greens were a bit tricky to get a feel for the speed but also in good shape. The course was packed so we waited on every hole. It took over 5 hours to complete the round. The staff was friendly and helpful. We got there early to have lunch, and it's a good thing we did as they were closing the Pub at 2pm for a wedding which we were told is a regular occurrence. Since that was the only place to get food it would be a good idea to let golfers know that when they make a tee-time that there are no other eateries available on the premise and they'll have to go elsewhere if they want to eat after their round. The pro shop was well stocked for men, but only a small section for women. I'm guessing not many women play this course. The starter and ranger were nice and personable. They couldn't do much about the pace of play. It would probably be helpful to space the tee-times out. We played after 1pm at a price of $95 per person which I thought was a bit pricey.Overall it was an okay experience. If you like links style courses you might find it more enjoyable. If you prefer a woodsy layout I suggest you take a pass on Ballyowen.

Customer meeting scheduled there. WHAT A RESORT!! Rooms were extremely nice, beautiful views of the NJ rolling hills, and suite setup was great with full kitchen. Dinners were wonderful, wide range of meal options and delicious. Bar is very nice, barteneders were extremely atttentive and easy to speak with.

Was disappointed in the overall lack of service. For the price they charge and they charge for everything I expected more. Service in restaurants was very slow, food was average at best. Breakfast buffet way over priced. Hotel ( the Appalacian) staff was hard to find and not very helpful when you could find them. Layout of hotel also poor had to walk a long way to get to lobby was not fun when had to get room card reactivated after they messed up our check out time. ( twice).

If a person has a walking disability from arthritis for very long distances, one must figure out to ask for a golf cart to get taken around even to indoor swimming, outdoor swimming, and to the restaurants. That is a big inconvenience. It was a bit frustrating to hobble to the indoor pool and realize the handicapped elevator use was limited to calling for someone to come and run the elevator. The restaurants were not convenient for a quick meal. Now my brother and wife had no such problems and enjoyed every minute!

Came with family reunion (12 total, 4 kids). Location and activities are BEAUTIFULLY kept and designed...just lovely. While everyone is very nice, problems executing on service persisted ALL weekend. Restaurants could NOT manage large weddings and regular patrons at the same time. Meals were hopelessly delayed and often incorrect. What did come out correct was actually pretty good...just had to wait over and hour in two different meals for the delivery.Rooms were clean when we arrived, but for the cost, garbage not emptied daily, shampoo etc not replenished daily, kitchens & sitting areas not vacuumed daily...disappointing.A really nice facility, but there is much work to do to justify the cost and a return visit for me.

Went to a wedding here. Venue was beautiful, grounds and pool well maintained. Great spot to remind you that there are beautiful areas in NJ to see. The staff were super knowledgeable and quite helpful when a family member became ill.Rehearsal dinner was superb at Restaurant Latour. Wonderful sommelier gave us a tour of the wine cellar and discussed each wine as they were served. You could tell she loves what she does.Wedding meal...not so good. Food was not cooked/prepared well. Several people got sick the days following. They need to seriously consider evaluating the menu and how food is prepared/handled. I would visit again but would consider a suite to cook my own food.

Go and visit, this is a hidden gem, up in the hills, yet only one hour from New York, awesome resort and golf courses

Crystal Springs was an INCREDIBLE venue for my Bachelorette Party. We loved the incredible brunch, and took advantage of Horseback Riding and spa amenities. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable, and were very helpful as we booked and enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend Crystal Springs Resort for any small party or romantic getaway, as the scenery is second-to-none and the room was beautiful! We stayed 2 days, but wish that we had more time to do more at the resort.

I attended Crystal Springs Resort for an extended family trip and stayed for the weekend. The Pros include access to some of the best in NJ with Ballyowen and Wild Turkey among my favorites anywhere. The grounds and pool were beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the staff, for the most part, are very nice. Now for the Cons: The air conditioning kicked on and off all night taking the room from extreme hot to extreme cold and the noise was disruptive making it difficult to sleep. This was not isolated as my family had 4 rooms--all with the same problem. Even still, I might rate the experience a full 5 stars if I was to judge the golf and accommodations and the prices were more reasonable. But, this is not an inexpensive place to stay, eat and drink. What really killed this experience for the family was the dining. The food was terrible. Just because you charge 5-star restaurant prices doesn't mean the food will taste good. The resort is in a fairly remote area in the mountains of New Jersey--not an island where everything needs to be shipped in. After spending a lot of money on dinner our first night we spoke to the food an beverage manager and he tried to at least do the right thing and comp us some wine the next night. We appreciated the effort, but its not enough to suggest I'd return to the resort for anything but the golf. Its a nice place to spend time with the family, but we were disappointed with the quality of the restaurants for what they charged. Its got great potential, but they've got some work to do.

I recently played at Black Bear in Franklin, part of Crystal Springs Golf resort. Overall I rate this as a wonderful place to have a great golf experience and nice dining.Black Bear is well kept, amazing attention to the fairways and greens. The holes are challenging and scenic. Although we did notice that grounds keepers are frequently in the line of play, which makes it a bit disconcerting when trying to focus. One hole, there was a guy watering the green and he was blocking us, with some discussion, he wound up moving on. On another hole, there was a very ambitious person mowing in front of the green, this also was sort of odd to deal with. He did pause briefly for my shots, but still was making me rush.I fully understand the large amount of work needed to maintain a busy golf course, but since it's not free, I'd like to play through without a hassle. As for the overall golfing experience, I think it was excellent besides the few nits. The dining at LaTour was very nice. Although I felt the menu lacked items I would want, I chose the Kobi Burger, and it was very good. The french fries were a bit limp, but tasty. The burger was the highlight. They had a "Ultimate" version for an additional $15 (total $40)..but I stuck with basic one for $25. The pickle was amazing btw. They had a nice draft beer selection. Overall the restaurant was pleasant and the food was good quality.I'd definitely come back to play more of their 7 different golf courses.
