I had never done anything like this, but I gathered my family and we went. Intense, scratch-your-head detection is needed to figure out how to exit the room. It doesn't matter whether you make it out, or not -- it's great fun for an hour and then lots more fun afterward as you dissect what happened. Even though it seems expensive ($35/hour), don't miss it -- it's not your usual humdrum outing. Parking is difficult, so get there early. Not for younger than twelve, I would say.

Awesome experience, one of the most fun things to do in the NY/NJ area, best room escape type activity I've ever done. Incredible setup, really challenging, can't wait for the next challenge.

Having done similar activities in NYC and outside of the US, I found Exit Strategy to be the best designed. Not only is it fun, but is also challenging. I would recommend it to all ages, but it is really great for those who don't get to use their brain power all that often! One of the most entertaining hours I've spent in a while!

This was a blast. I'd never done a room escape before, had no idea what I was getting into. You're placed in a set of rooms that are full of objects to interact with, and the objective is to use your wits to parse out the clues from your environment. With each piece of the puzzle that you solve, new elements are added, until eventually you solve the mystery and find the key that lets you escape. The design is very clever and it was pretty challenging to finish and 'escape' before time ran out.Witty people will love this. Make sure there is at least one witty person in your group, or you're gonna have a bad time.

I was looking for something to do with my business colleagues other than the typical dinner out. After some research, I found Exit Strategy. I was not sure at first what to expect but it promised a real time adventure. Exit Strategy delivered! We were put in the middle of a mystery and locked in a series of rooms where we were required to work together using clues,visuals and our own wits to get out. We strategized we laughed, we burned some brain cells and we did it. All the long, feeling like we just got dropped into a movie but the experience was real. Exit strategy is fun for all ages and can be done with a group of friends or a group of strangers. All you need is your imagination and determination and you will get a wonderfully satisfying and fun experience.

I had an amazing time at Exit Strategy! It was sooo much fun and really exciting. Even if you don't make it out in an hour (like my group), you will still have a blast! Having participated in several Room Escapes in Europe and one in New York City, I must say that Room Escapes have ALWAYS been unforgettable experiences. However, Exit Strategy was my favourite. The quality of the room is outstanding. It is equipped with great attention to detail. And what I liked most about this one, is that the storyline runs like a thread through it.Over time, I also noticed that many other Room Escapes used similar or even the same puzzles, which was not the case at Exit Strategy. The puzzles are very diverse. Apart from a variety of mental challenges this Room Escape even includes physical challenges, which everyone loved.It is definitely a must-do when you're in NJ or nearby. I highly recommend it! ..Who ever thought that being locked in a room could be so much fun?
