okay this is going to be one of the most heart wrenching reviews I ever write... the childrens museum was like a paradise for me when I was a kid... I remember almost everything about it and me and my sister would go all the time with my mother. The fact that I never got to go back before it closed down saddens me, as a kid i didnt care if it was dirty or not or if the toys were outdated, pretending to be a doctor a police worker or a news caster was the most fun i ever had, i met so many of my friends at this museum and I still know them to this day, I constantly asked my mom to take me here when I was little and I hope another one just like it opens up soon.
The childrens museum is closed. When it was open it was an average childrens museum. It needed a good cleaning and an update at the end.
Another NJ family destination has closed for good. The NJ Children's Museum in Paramus has officially closed as of Sept. 1, 2014. Although this museum was not particularly high-tech, it was fun, educational, and hands-on and was a perfect rainy-day destination for younger kids. It is a real shame that so many of these reasonably-priced kid-friendly places are closing.
This is a wonderful place to entertain young children. Unfortunately, it is closing so there are just a few more days to enjoy the fun. Try to get there before the doors close forever. Wish someone would come forth and relocate everything to a nearby site so that kids could enjoy it forever.
If you want to go one more time do it quickly. Valley Hospital bought the place and it is closing to be renovated as part of the medical facility.
Won't be going back again. Lots of things formkids t play with but I've paid less for much better quality at other places. We all needed to wash our hands constantly. Charging adults so much makes it an expensive rainy day activity.
Come back and visit one last time! We close forever on Monday Labor Day Sept 1. Half off in the gift shop, and we are auctioning off all the exhibits right now! Please visit us on facebook and share with friends! Thank you and we will miss you!
This is not a museum. This is a place that has different areas for role playing. For example, they have a restaurant area to pretend like a waiter etc, a doctor's office where the kids can put on a lab coat and act like a doctor. This place is overpriced for what they are offering. It looks as though the place hasn't been updated in 20+ years. Thumbs down.
Come visit one last time! We close forever on Monday Sept 1 and we are auctioning everything right now on onlineauction.com!

I like this place for kids but its kind of boring for adults...funt o watch your kids play but its not very interactive for adults as well. The fire truck is a favorite and the coin toss machine.
Went to this museum with my daughter on her field trip. I can not lie, my daughter seemed like she was having fun but I couldn't stop myself from washing her hands. This place looks very dirty. It's terrible. I'll never bring my daughter there again. Don't waste your money. Save your child from getting sick while u can. I will give some credit to the story tellers. I think that might of been the only nice thing.
I attended the Princess Ball on Friday Feb.7/2014 and this was my 1st visit to this museum! Staff was pleasant and its definitely a museum for smaller children. Very old and dated place. I was clueless as to what to expect but I was quickly disappointed and 1st impressions are lasting impressions! Moving forward. When I think of a ball I invision something magical, mystical, beautiful, tasteful, and enchanting. This event failed to me any criteria defining a BALL! If you have ever attended a ball or seen one then you know this was not that! The princesses came out, families/children crowded into a space and I mean a tight space and did our best to see them and get pictures and autographs. Not a great set-up at all! Far too congested, we should have been in lines which would have made things move smoothly. Finally, the princesses were disappointing. These women dressed in standard costumes (DRESSES) not gowns and wigs clearly from some party or an online store. The museum needs to invest in real ball gowns for these women and have a make artist apply their makeup. I couldn't believe how unattractive they looked. Cinderella was the only one in a gown. They even wore there own shoes and not a costume shoe. If anyone has ever seen the Disney princesses then you know those women put in major time and effort to be Princess-like! So I will not recommend this affair to any parents. Truly not a ball but lets just call this a meet and greet event.
