The Parlance Chamber Music series is a fantastic boon to the Bergen County classical music lovers and the acoustics are terrific.
Superb Organ, excellent acoustics, great space for large audiences on two floors. Love, Love to sing in this venue!!!!Convenient Location and spacious parking for audiences and other attendees.
Welcoming congregation, world-class choir & organist, inspiring sermons. Can also worship online, www.westside.org
This is a wonderful church with an exceptional music ministry for every age. It has a beautiful sanctuary, Christian Education, and is community service centered.
as a child, and though am not Presbyterian, have attended many services here as an adult over the past decade or so, and can attest to the beauty of the space, the kindness of the congregation, and the pleasantness of the clergy/"management"/"higher-ups" of this church. The music program is AMAZING, and has been for at least 25 years - from traditional hand-bells to singing - different each decade, but always outstanding compared to the services I have attended on every inhabited continent as well as in the US. Though I treasure memories of music and education here as a child, it is not nostalgia, or even faith (again, I am not affiliated with any denomination at all, nor necessarily a Christian,) that makes me rank this church so highly - in all of Bergen County and most of NYC and all of "the city" save rather obvious ones or small community churches (e.g. in Harlem), this is the nicest service I can recommend personally on all counts, but ESPECIALLY the music. Not even churches in Passaic County that I adore can rival this one - and that is saying quite a lot. The combination of incredibly good funding, agape, and top professionals makes this church stand out from others in the region in all respects, whether for short or long-term education or a single service.
We felt very good the Priest is very nice and does not give long speak
I been going here for almost a year now and it feels good to be there wish every one well
Rock solid preaching based on Scripture but timely and open minded. Great music that is thoughtful and uplifting. Joyful congregation that was very warm.
The West Side Presbyterian Church at 6 South Monroe St in Ridgewood has been around for 100 years. But their sanctuary is only 6 years old. In January 2002 a fire destroyed the beautiful & dark sanctuary and adjoiningmeeting hall. In 2006, a new modern, and acoustically sound sanctuary was opened. The direction was reoriented to the south which faces the parking lot. There are sky lights & windows which bring in great amounts of light. There is an art gallery. There is the small but interesting Pulsifer chapel. There are areas inside & out which are enjoyable to just sit in.Herbert S Newman & Partners were the architects for this award-winning structure. To truly appreciate this building, attend a concert in the sanctuary. There are concerts on many weekends. Check www.westside.org for a complete schedule. If possible you should try to hear West Side's new 51-stop, 65-rank, three manual pipe organ, built by Nichols and Simpson of Little Rock, Arkansas. It is an incredible instrument.Whether you go of a concert, attend a worship service or you want to find a quiet place to relax, a visit to West Side Presbyterian Church is worth the time. The sanctuary/chapel/gallery are open M - F 8:00 AM to at least 7:00 PM.* Saturdays vary depends on time of year & events. Sundays 8:00 AM to 1 PM*Concert days & nights the church is open later.
