The area is a little sketchy, but there is good police presence before and after events. There is also an indoor path for Penn Station to the area that I would recommend. The Devils have the coolest opening sequence in hockey.
I am an NHL Hockey Fan and not a Devils Fan, but the Prudential Center is well located to transportation options via NJ Penn Station and there is parking at all price levels from free street parking to $30 next to the Arena. There is plenty of security and traffic control on game days. The Arena is well laid out with wide corridors and ample restroom facilities. The food options are typical sports bar/stadium fare, if not dining in the Acela Club which is slightly more upscale and offers a buffet. For Dining, I'd recommend trying the Portuguese Restaurants in the nearby Ironbound District. The Event staff is helpful and friendly. The new management dropped the Devils Dancers.
Ive been a NHL fan for over 15 years but this has been my first chance to see a game, im a Penguins fan but an opportunity to watch a live NHL game was one i couldnt pass up, plus I could cheer the Devils as they played the Flyers! The crowd was excellent, hats off to the NJ crowd. The game was even better than watching on TV, just a great all round experience ill never forget. Thanks New Jersey!
Suck it up and pay the extra $ for the club seats - they're worth it. I lost my iPhone at the game and they actually found it and sent it back to me via UPS - security and guest services staff were awesome. Also, the clam roll with bacon and tartar sauce was fantastic.
We visited one match and the show is in NHL better than in Europe. Unfortunately a few days after trade Jaromir Jagr to Florida... :-(
I went to the Devils vs predators game March 3rd and had a absolutly amazing experience. The rink is the best in the NHL because of its layout and for experience. The lower bowl has a AMAZING walkway that you can walk around the entire lower bowl and snap pics from different angles. They have fire and ice lounges which by far have the best food I have ever had at a NHL game. If you have club seats they may be 200 bucks or so but worth every penny. They have some complimentary food which is AMAZING. Next for the staff at the game: by FAR the BEST and most pleasant people I interacted with. Super friendly and I enjoyed every minute that I was in this rink. Next for the food choices, they have so many food options you will never be disappointed with the food options. They have about what I'm going to say many options. I had the chicken strips from the Ice Lounge and the strips were by far the BEST strips I have ever eaten. I could go on and on about my experience and know New Jersey Devils hockey club and Prudential Center that I will be back very soon!! The saving again resumes. The rink is the most beautiful rink I have ever been in.
easy to reach, well organized, lot of food choices (not the healthiest one, but whatever) - we had a great time there!
Me and my wife saw Mark Anthony valentine night and had a blast, he was great, first time at the Prudential center, it's just ours in philly. would go back. Parking all over. was worth the snow storm i had to ride back to Jim Thorpe in.
I've been to potential center (The Rock) about six times most of them Devils hockey games but have gone to the circus there, have always had a pleasant experience no issue parking no issues on the streets once you're inside whatever the event is your all into no issues inside. Most people shy away because it's Newark and have never tried it, to those people don't complain until you've tried it don't listen to the one person with all their bad reviews, Always a pleasant experience During and when we leave plus there's places to eat plus there's transportation. Also My Wife and Kids have gone to a few concerts there and have always had a good time. There is one warning don't walk more than 4 blocks away in certain directions which there is no reason to unless you are looking for an issue.
This place is spectacular! Very well run, friendly staff and excellent venue for concerts, sporting events, etc.
I am from Montréal where hockey is extremely popular. It is almost impossible to get tickets for a hockey game in Montréal; and, when you do, they are very expensive. So I went to Newark to see a game for the first time in my life. For 50 dollars I had amazing seats near the ice (same tickets would have cost $300 in Montréal). I had a great time. Of course purists will tell you that you can only enjoy hockey in Montréal where the real hockey fans are. It is true that in Newark, hockey is more family oriented (lot of families with kids) and the spectators in Newark spend as much time going for food and drinks than actually watching the game. But, I didnt mind. Combined with a visit of New York city, it is a lot of fun.
Great venue in a central, easily accessible area. When they have events there is more than enough police presence in the area. Area parking is usually $20+ during events but don't cheap out...you are in Newark.
Saw Fleetwood Mac here. The place was packed. Nice stadium. Plenty of places to eat and drink before the concert. Had floor seating. No one sat through the entire concert.
great venue, go every year, I'm a huge Pens fan,the Devils fans are top notch. never any problems. State of the art facility. Everything is easy to find, and close to your seat.
Very good location, easy to access. No waiting in general.Clean, beverages available, nice service and staff.
