It's clean, fun, friendly and well cared for. It a great one mile walk for friends to chat, families, pets and even the elderly.
I love coming here, but during the summer time this place get so packed it's often difficult to find parking and if you're looking for a quiet place to walk, the summer is the noisiest with groups and kids often filling up the park and trail around the lake. Mornings are a great time to come, it's very peaceful and often you'll see turtles, the heron, dragonflies and a plethora of birds. There are a few great little tucked away spots off the trail if you look hard enough. It's a great one mile loop. It's even nicer during the fall, but the spring it is incredibly muddy.
Very nice park for kids, and a beautiful little pond that has a nice trail to walk. I love taking my dogs and kids there to walk, play and relax. There is also a community swimming pool in the summer months.
Dogs ,even on leashes, aren't under control. Nice walking area but owners of BIG dogs seem to lack necessary control. We have been met with barking, growling and aggressive dogs and won't walk there with or without our pets.
Walked with friends at this park. The trails were very clean and laid out in a way so as to not get lost, yet still provides a wooded/natural environment. There is a pond with ducks and pretty views. It can be rather buggy, so bring your bug spray. Trails are mostly shaded. Within the park is playground (swings) equipment that is clean/fun in appearance -- I'd still bring along the Purell though. There is also a public pool for residents which can get really crowded in the heat. Benches are scattered around the park (not in the walking trail areas). Parking lot is rather small. People there were mostly younger families, some teens and friendly adults walking the trail. Great meeting spot for friends/young families.
Hopefully people will keep this park CLEAN & SAFE! Wonderful place to relax and plenty of place for kids to play safely. Have noticed recently and unfortunately that people are not picking up after themselves or dogs. Need a couple of organized clean up days-need to spruce up and re-paint hazards in the walking areas.
I go there with my two kids - toddler and baby. So, the most important point is playground. It has a lot of slides, swings, climbing and running equipment. It has two playground parts (for elder and smaller kids). It's in SHADE - the best point in summer.Pond with a trail around and some ducks - is interesting fun for kids too. Pavement around playground allows my toddler to drive a scooter (or a bike). It has many benches to rest and watch for your kid playing. Some picnic tables to have a lunch and many, many trees around (oxygen source).
My husband and I had a great walk around the lake under the shade of big trees. It is clean and full of nature. Most hikers seemed friendly. We had a nice day on that park. We don't have to pay any fee.
Enjoyed the playground and a great hike around the lake. My grandson walked most of the way, so it wasn't a serious trek, but a nice stroll. He fed some ducks, ran back and forth across the bridge and said hello to everyone we met. Lots of bikers, hikers and walkers. Really nice place to spend a day.
The park includes a few sports fields, but the real gem is a pond with an about 1.2 miles trail around it. A nice and peaceful place, mostly in shade of the trees. It's perfect for running or a walk - a lot of nature, water, trees, birds. And a relatively short length makes it very manageable. No fees.
As out-of-towners with a walking routine we looked for a spot close to our B&B and found Livingston Park's walking trails. Three times around Dorrs Pond equals one hour/3.5 miles for us which is perfect. The trails are wonderfully maintained and the other walkers are very friendly. The people of Manchester are lucky to have this spot.
We met as a group last May. It was our semi-annual walk of our grammar school group. Had a great lunch at the Puritan Restaurant then walked it off on the trails. Great fun!
I used to visit this park as a child. GREAT improvement! The playground area is clean and we'll maintained. The pond is clean. The nature walk was a good family walk.
If going with kids (little boys and girls), keep a close eye on them and be ready to intervene -watch the adult males "hanging out." The place is nice and tranquil inside the city, close to everything. Forested trails around the pond etc. and even accessible during the hard bits of Winter. A definite keeper on the list of quick "need a walk" or kids are restless in April with 2' of snow kind of place. The City of Manchester keeps this place VERY CLEAN!
There is a beautiful, maintained walking path around the pond here. Great place for a relaxing walk.
