They make the best chocolate this side of the Mississipi. And their ice cream sundaes are to die for also.

My boys and I ended up at Ava Marie after striking out on finding a breakfast place. We had home baked apple pie and some hot chocolate. Both were very good and a treat. The hot chocolate was made with milk, and it had real whipped cream and a chocolate garnish on it. It was the second best cup of hot chocolate I've ever had (the first being at a chocolate shop in Rome, Italy). The woman who greeted us was very kind and understood that I was somewhat frazzled by being unable to find a breakfast place that could seat us, and gave me a cute little chocolate acorn filled with caramel. Yum. The chocolate shop has neat chocolates made in molds, traditional truffles and filled chocolate, ice cream, and interestingly unexpected items such as a haunted house made of chocolate.We will definitely go back again!!

We're locals and never get tired of Ava Marie's! A wide variety of fresh chocolate and boxed items and gifts. We always head here for holiday gifts. They also have many flavors of great ice cream - even in the winter season! I wish they were in Depot Square with the many other wonderful shops here in Peterborough, NH. Enjoy!

Ava Marie's has The Most Fabulous chocolate! My favorite is the dark chocolate turtle (it might have a different name, as I believe "Turtle" is a trademark). Whatever they call them, they're HUGE. Ava's makes its own caramel too, and it is creamy and wonderful. The ice cream is pretty terrific too - you can get a milk or dark chocolate hard shell on your ice cream or have a freshly-made waffle cone. My favorite: coconut ice cream with dark chocolate hard shell. Yum!

Their Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and Mississippi Mud (coffee ice cream with oreo and almonds) were amazing. Plus they have chocolate and sprinkle-dipped cones, which were delicious!

Staff is friendly and helpful and the chocolate choices are interesting and fun. Milk and dark chocolate are both delicious. Make sure you have time to look around the shop there is always something interesting and yummy. The ice cream cakes are delicious and beautiful. I picked up a chocolate tree that was a hit at our family dinner.

All hand made chocolates, very high quality. Beautiful variety. The owner really knows what she's doing.

And yes, we've been to Ben & Jerry's, which is now owned by Unilever and very commercial. But we've eaten ice cream in a lot of places around the world famous for ice cream, and never had any so good as here. The chocolates, too, are to die for. Just a nice little parlor, no factory tours; but if you're within an hour's drive, make the detour: you won't be disappointed!

Perfect location, great variety and home made icecream

I went here twice in February. The first time for an ice cream cake with my selection of ice creams. And the second time for chocolates for all of the beautiful women in my life. Ava Marie's has been around for many years and always is busy. Great selection of boxed chocolate as well as a selection from the counter. It is worth the visit.
