pitcher mountain

This mountain is easy, easy, easy to get to the top, and offers two great rewards at the summit: an awesome view and wild blueberries! It is way out of the way so you really don't have to worry about the crowds at the top like you would at some hikes in the Whites or on Mt. Monadnock. My wife and I are planning to go back in a few weeks when the blueberries are ready to be picked and spend an afternoon on the summit, picnicking and taking in the great views.

This is a lovely short hike up the so-called mountain, when you get to the top, the view is fantastic. Plus on the way, in the summer time, there are blueberry bushes ripe for the picking and you are invited to pick at will.

You can find a lot of wild blueberries along the top end of this trail. There is a man in the parking lot that will give you a bag to put them in if you pay him a few dollars... I believe this is his land. the trail itself is not incredibly difficult, most people can handle the incline. At the time are some great views of the valley and forest. This is a great place to site see.. A lot of relaxation when you reach the peak.

Highbush wild blueberries after a short hike (although there is a charge under an honor system) and lovely views are to be found in the mid-summer months on Pitcher Mountain. Driving over there is very pleasant also...beautiful.
