If you love covered bridges dont miss this one . We took a whole day and just visited as many covered bridges as we could in the White Mnts.
The Haverhill-Bath Covered Bridge (# 27) is the Oldest Covered Bridge in the State of New Hampshire (1829) and is on the National Register of Historic Places. As it is one of 3 Bridges in the Bath, New Hampshire area... collectively known as the Bath Covered Bridges... consequently it is often incorrectly referred to with Bath in the forefront as the Bath-Haverhill Bridge. The Bridge is easy to find just off scenic Highway 302 in Woodsville NH (at Hwy 135)… and it is stunning to photograph. The bridge was fully restored in 2004, and is now only open to foot traffic. The design of this bridge is particularly interesting due to its covered sidewalk on the northside. We heard about the Bath Bridges while at the State Tourist Welcome Centre in Wells River, Vermont… and we were so glad to stop and enjoy this gorgeous piece of New Hampshire history.
