I liked the layout of the park. The slides were not right next to each other and not too far apart. :)
Nice waterpark. Fun slides. Ticket prices expensive. Parking fee. Food is expensive and its your typical theme park fast food. Cabana prices are ridiculous! Absolutely ridiculous! I rented one for myself, husband and child.... It was $90/day for one small table and two chairs. I felt like we needed one because all the free lounge chairs are taken so quickly, even if you are there at opening. You have to pay if you want to use an inner tube all day, even though all the rides come with inner tubes to use. (On that ride only, turn it in when you're at the bottom) $15 for a large locker rental, with a deposit. After paying $38.99 to get in the door per person, they sure know how to nickel and dime you for the rest of the day as well.
Just a typical water park. Cant imagine not going every year. Big wave pool, nice lazy river, bunch of slides :)
I love the rides, the food, ticket price is not too high, wish they would open later than they do. love the new rides lines are too long sometimes and I think they can do a better job at that.
I wanted to take 4 of the grandkids to Water country to spend a fun day WITH them and WITHOUT their smart phones. The rides were of all levels of "thrill" factor. We had so much fun. We got there when it opened so for at least two hours, we didn't have to wait long to get on many rides. There is plenty of shaded areas with picnic tables for lunch and snack times. My granddaughter got sunblock in her eye and we were able to get an eyewash treatment at the First Aid center, very quickly. We have a nice water park on Cape Cod but this was definitely worth the drive. A Very Fun Day ! !
I would advise that you get there at about 9:30/9:40 to get a good parking space (it costs 5 dollars to park). The doors open at 10 and a queue does quickly form, mainly because they check your bags before you go in. I'm not sure what this is for, maybe alcohol. A lot of people take their own food, in abundance, and we saw people with all kinds of cool boxes on wheels and trays of food wrapped in foil. So different to the UK. We went on a Friday in the middle of August and it wasn't too busy. There were plenty of places to sit and we actually moved from one part of the park to another, finding empty seats and dumping our bags whilst we went on the slides. I wouldn't bother ordering a cabana as there is plenty of seating and it's nice to be able to relocate when you have young kids and want to spend time in different areas of the park.Another post mentioned the seagulls and they are truly a nightmare. Avoid the tables under the trees and keep any food well hidden. I saw unattended tables that were targeted by the seagulls; they got inside bags and pulled out food, ripping open carefully wrapped sandwiches etc. Don't think that keeping food out of site will stop them, as they are clever and very capable! You can rent a locker for your valuables and also life jackets for the young ones, which are compulsory on some rides. They are located on the left as you go in through the entrance; the changing rooms are also there. We were worried that we hadn't taken any inflatable tubes with us but you don't need them. There are so many there that you just pick one up at each slide and use it.For lunch we went to the cafe near the big family tube slide (Wild Canyon) and ordered a whole pizza, which was actually really good. If you are ordering a few pieces then it's better value to buy a whole pizza. Work out a plan when you get there, especially if you have young kids as a lot of rides need kids to be above 42" tall, some are over 48". They do have guides to measure the kids but be careful as some rides don't have them at their entrance. We saw a lot of families climbing up 100 stairs only to be turned back at the top.In the morning the queues were quite short but by the afternoon longer queues did start to develop on the best rides. I recommend doing the Dragons Den and Dr Von Darks rides early on as these do get the biggest queues later on. There are plenty of fun areas for little kids but not as much choice for the in-betweeners that want more fun. A lot of the rides that look that they might be suitable aren't and even the Triple Giant Slides are actually quite fast so make sure your kids are brave and ready. You can only go down one at a time on most of the slides and you aren't allowed to wait for your kids at the bottom so they need to be able to swim and get out of the water. It's a good park though and we had an excellent day. It was a bit cloudy when we went and the kids did get cool in the afternoon so take extra towels or something to put over their shoulders.
Best to go on a weekday in the beginning of the week near the end of the summer to avoid long lines. That's what my husband and I did and the longest we waited in a long was 20 mins. Was a good time. Unfortunately pricing is a bit high, also have to pay for parking.
Very clean and well laid out. Many pools. Will visit again. Lots of slides for different ages. Only drawback is expensive food.Next time will pack a lunch
I have been a season pass holder at Water Country for the past two years and have visited the park over a dozen times with my family and friends. The staff and the water safety team take great pride in making your experience a safe and enjoyable time for you family. From the moment you walk in through the gates to taking in the fun and thrills of each of the attractions, you know you family is safe and in good hands. Foremost and important is the cleanliness of the park overall with clean bright chairs, no litter and staff making sure the bathrooms are kept clean and free of standing water. As for each of the attractions the water is crystal clear and the areas are well maintained. The general green space is well manicured and you always see someone walking around with a broom and dust pan cleaning up any minor litter. Water Country is the gold standard for the industry.
Every thing was over priced , the lines for the attractions where to long . wasn't the best looking place I have been to in the USA, it looked tired and dated , we went with 4 teenage boys and they had had enough with standing in line . On a positive note you are allowed to take your own food and drinks ( non alcoholic ) and you can leave and re-enter without being charged again , this is a good thing as you can leave your belongings in your car and go and get them when you want ( if you can get close enough to the gates without walking a long distance $15 premium parking charge ) . If you are disabled it cost $5 and all the parking spots are at right at the main entrance . I really can't say anything better about the place only if your a member of AAA get your tickets from them as it's cheaper
Thank you for visiting our park and taking the time to leave a review. For future reference tickets purchased online are valid for any day in the present operating season unless they are part of a special promotion that is date specific. We are so glad the kids enjoyed the park! Have a great rest of your summer!
Thank you for your feedback. On hot, busy days there are lines, which we do apologize for. No line is ever fun to wait in. Once again thank you for your feedback and hope you have a great rest of your summer!
I took my 2 sons and went with another family to Water Country last Saturday. The water was Really cold. When 3 boys 2, 4, and 7 won't get in the water there's a problem. Me and the other dad wouldn't either. 1st water park I've been to that had such cold water. I've been to many others. I sent an email to management and they responded promptly. They said they don't heat their water. That's a shame cause New England weather can be unpredictable. It's been a cool summer. I wouldn't recommend going here unless it's REALLY hot. The day I went it was 79 degrees and that wasn't getting it done. If you can stand the cold water I think you'd enjoy it. Five of us couldn't.
