I'm not a wine guy, I'm a whiskey guy.My wife wanted to visit, so I went along. I'm glad I did, as it was really fun.The wines are good, the staff friendly, and overall, it was a good time.
I loved the strawberry wine. I like that they have women's events. Really great fruit wines. Laid back.
The place is small and staff not very friendly or helpful. Not a place that had much of the wines we enjoy.
Went here with a group of friends. It had some pretty good wines. We paid $4 for 5 different wines but that was the price if you paid with cash or else I think it was $6 for 5 tastings. It was nice to look at the list of wines and pick the 5 you wanted to taste. The staff was also very friendly even tho I felt like we might have overwhelmed them with the number in a group. It was a tight fit around the bar. There was only 8 of us!
Just a cute, fun, and relaxing place. We were able to meet the owner, her staff was just as friendly as the owner was. The wine was fantastic and we loved that you have the option to choose what wines you want to try so you and your spouse can choose different wines and then try up to 14! The place is clean and so friendly. Would go back again and again. And love that the tasting bar is outside! So nice.
Our first visit to this winery made for a very pleasant experience. Our server, Traci, was knowledgeable and attentive. Wines were explained well and we were never left waiting for the next of 7 wines offered in our tasting. This winery has several more varieties available than most we have visited. What impressed us was the distinct and different taste of each wine we tried. Some wineries offerings tend to have similar taste one to the next - not this one! Our favorites were Oximoron and Dottie's Angel 2011. Of the fruit wines, plum was our favorite and we helped reduce diminishing inventory. A nice variety of local cheese, meat and crackers is available. Even though busy preparing for a special evening event, Nicole, the owner made time to share a few interesting tidbits about the vineyard and winery. All in all, it was a fun afternoon. Hint: pay cash and save $.
The service bumped my review from average to very good. Our server was very friendly and did a great job of explaining the wines. Many of the wines weren't to my taste, but I don't claim to be a wine connoisseur. We visited during a rainstorm, so admittedly we didn't spend much time looking around outside, but the tasting room itself wasn't as nice as other Minnesota wineries I've visited. I don't regret visiting, and I think this is worth a stop if you are driving by, but I wouldn't make a special trip.
The owner was also our server. She was very helpful in explaining each wine. It was a nice day (May 17, 2014), so we did our wine tasting outside and then enjoyed a glass of wine in the adirondack chairs. They also have a nice gift shop. My husband and I found several wines that we really like. We will definitely be going back.
We just visited Buffalo Rock Winery for the 1st time today(5/18/14). The wine was delicious and the service was great. We found this winery thanks to a Living Social deal and we will definitely be back. The winery has an indoor & outdoor tasting room so on nice MN days you can enjoy being outside & once you've completed your tasting sit on the patio and enjoy a glass of wine. Nice selection of wines to choose from. Friendly Service. We ended up taking home several bottles of wine(grabbing some for gifts too). Nice price point & a nice variety of wines. Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon. Looking forward to visiting again.
