Mississippi Dunes is a perfect venue for an outdoor wedding. The location along the river is absolutely breathtaking. The staff, every single one of them, was courteous, helpful and very professional. The plated meals were delicious and served in a timely manner. This venue is priced comparable to similar sites, with the added bonus for the gorgeous location, great staff and delicious food. Jeff and his staff went above and beyond to make our daughters wedding very memorable for all of the wedding party as well our guest.
It is a tough corse most likely the toughest course around also has a place to eat and a golf pro shop. It's a little tough to get there though.
We recently had my sons groom's dinner here and everything was great! Jeff was very helpful and the whole staff coundn't have been more friendly! The buffet was very good !
Good: course in better condition than a few years ago. Challenging for a lower handicap golfer. Reasonably wide fairways. Different setup & break from the normal. Visually stunning in a few spots along MS river.Bad: Poor design. Went for links style (fits terrain) but needlessly have all these manufactured raised upside down bowl shaped greens which require you to fly the ball with a high trajectory to a specific area of the green. A lot of blind t-shots - need to play course a few times to get lines. Not a fan of manufactured hazards in middle of fairway. Tough course for a higher handicap player, unless you don't mind shooting a 100.
Beautiful venue but their manager Dennis did everything in his power to ruin our wedding. He didn't pay attention to any details. He told us his staff would apply seat covers but they never did. Our wedding party did that for them. A member of his staff also took us out on a golf cart to show us locations of the course we could have our wedding photos taken, the day of our wedding Dennis told us we aren't allowed on the course even though Mississippi Dunes staff spent a day with us on the course for photo locations. He even yelled at my bride when she asked when we could take a cart out for pictures.
The Dunes is a great place for a wedding by the river and a reception in the club house. The staff was very good to work with and the food is great. The area for a wedding is very well done and is a beautiful setting right on the banks of the Mississippi River.
It has been 8 years since I last played the track. Mainly because I have spent the last 4 years playing golf in the Hilton Head South Carolina area. I was very worried that coming back to MN I would NOT be able to find a course that lived up to what I had grown custom to. Well let me tell you this course lives up to and possibly beyond in a lot of aspects! The staff was amazing, very helpful and accommodating. The next step was the practice facility, the facility is on point! The only draw back is having to drive 3-4 minutes back up the road to warm up(so when you play give yourself an extra 15 minutes). Next the tee boxes were a 8/10 they have some areas of unevenness but manicured great! The fairways are manicured to the same level as Harbor Town never had a bad lie, the undulate a lot so be prepared to have fun! Next the greens rolled very true and are difficult to read with a lot of small breaks! The speed was great for a public course I would say at least possibly 10-11. Overall this golf course will get a lot of attention from me and golfing buddies! Last words of thought be prepared for table top style of greens, the greens reminded me a lot of Kiawah Islands ocean course. If you miss the green in the wrong spot you can expect big numbers so take it in stride and enjoy the beautiful golf course WITHOUT fairway lined houses! This course will challenge every skill level, it is not long but it makes up for it with the greens! I always rate my courses on the quality of the greens so out of 5 stars I give the course 4.5! The price is amazing also ENJOY THE TRACK!
This course is located on a scenic piece of land, but the design of the course is terrible.Every hole is elevated and the balls will just roll off and end up in a valley where you have to chip up to the green. The greens have mounds, which makes the putts even more difficult.Added to the elevated and undulating greens is amount of blind shots you will experience. The designer of the course is a doctor (owner of the course) who has never designed a course, and unfortunately it shows.Too bad, because the property is very nice.My advice to anyone looking to come here and golf is to find another course.
I would highly recommend this course. Challenging course for us average golfers. Great views and friendly staff.
this is one of the hardest courses I have ever played, including a 123 slop in Nevada, greens are super tough, but it made you earn your score. tough is sometimes fun
Not too impressed with the menu - nothing too creative and original. There was not one other party in the restaurant, I wonder if that should have been an indicator?
Situated on a the eastern shore of the Mississippi River, the course provide great shot values and almost requires you to use every club in your bag. There are sufficient tee boxes available to test all skill levels. Bent grass fairways and greens. Stay to have a beer on the patio after your round as the view is a reward for a good (or bad) round.
Fun Course, some hidden greens, lots of water to watch out for.
I have been there twice for weddings, the staff was o.k., could have been a little nicer. They put overflow people in seating outside, it feels like you are the outside dog, that can't come in to be a part of the family.
This is a true links course. Have a hard time keeping the ball straight? Then this will be and extra expensive round with all the balls you will lose. Good shape but a tough course! Happy hitting!
