Took me back in time, wonderful toys that you could play with and try out. A nice display of old toys that brought back memories of my past. Great ice cream available for purchase was a fun place for our grandchildren they really enjoyed playing with the toys, our 2 year old found a doll that she liked and carried it all over the place. She was so proud of her purchase.A fun way to spend the day with our grandchildren
Neat toy museum, wife likes the fudge shop, Huge selection of books, toys, novelties, ect. Takes you back to your childhood.
Despite having no children with us, we stopped at Lark Toys. There is so much to see and do - books, toys, carousel, miniature golf, food, and, our favorite, the toys of yesteryear. We wandered from room to room looking at all of the toys, books, and hands-on activities. We could have stayed much longer.
I wish LARK toys was closer so I could visit more often! This toy store, which also houses an extensive toy museum in it's hallways, is a dream for parents, children, and grandchildren! There were so many interesting things for my children to look at. My mom and I enjoyed reminiscing about the toys from our childhoods as well. The toy store area is huge and we weren't able to see it all. They produce a few of their own wooden toys, including a great line of wooden pull toys where pulling the toy causes secondary action -- like an animal riding a bicycle, waves moving by a canoe, etc. I'm so glad we bought one of these special creations to bring back to Texas. They also have a large stock of cars, a big assortment of innovative commercially-produced toys (Melissa & Doug, etc.) as well as a mini-golf and a carousel (the last two are for a fee).
We stopped by on our way to Wabasha's Eagle Center and it was a perfect stop for children and or adults who are children at heart. There are wide range of toys that I think will engage the child's imagination, and also adult's. I will stop by again. Staff are super friendly. We ended the visit with a ride on the carousel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. It was so much fun to look at all the toys from our childhood, the wonderful wooden toys, and the beautiful hand craved wooden carousel and figures. The staff was so friendly, the fudge divine, so much to see. Make sure to allow yourself plenty of time. We wondered from room to room, and loved everything we saw. We are recommending it to everyone to whom to talk about our trip, be sure to check it out, you will not be disappointed.
If I was a grandparent I'd definitely take my grandkids here. That said, we brought two teenagers who still had fun doing the mini-golf and checking out all the "toys from history." Multiple attractions abound be it a working carousel, large toy store, miniature golf, circus mirrors, candy store, fudge... need I say more?
What an amazing place! Be sure to give yourself a couple of hours to visit. Collections of old toys nicely displayed. Their selection of toys, games, fun and more is unbelievable! Unique toys for all ages, and a great collection of books from the classics to the new. If you get hungry, there is candy from every decade, ice cream, and 'basket specials' like burgers and fries. Visit is free, need to buy rides on the carousal or tickets to mini golf.
This was a suggested stop by a friend. We weren't traveling with children, but they would have loved it! (as did all the kids we saw there) The carousel was AMAZING! hand carved imagination rich animals - just plain fun! I must have shot 36 frames just of the carousel animals. And the toys - blast from the past! old old toys, and some more recent, and of course Shopping, Eating and relaxing. Mini golf as well. The museum is free, to ride the carousel, inexpensive - didn't check on the mini golf - but seemed a place to NOT miss on your southern Minn, West Wis travels!
We included this toy store as one of our stops on our drive around Lake Pepin. It is an impressive toy store, a diverse selection of toys for all ages. The book store was well stocked. The wooden toys made at LARK are available for purchase. You can watch them being made through a viewing window. I enjoyed the antique toy displays in the hallway. There is a candy and ice cream store. The indoor carousel is beautiful and it looked like the children were enjoying their rides. There is also a mini golf course but we didn't take the time to golf. I purchased a few toys and books for my classroom as well as a few LARK products for gifts. I am glad we stopped.
We spent nearly two hours here during our trip down the Mississippi River. The boys (aged 8 & 9) loved it. There is the real toy store (room after room - it never ends), classic toys on display in the hallway, area to buy candy/fudge/ice cream/cafeteria-type food, the gift shop, the carousel and then the outside mini-golf. We didn't have time to mini-golf, but saw everything else. The boys rode the carousel that runs every half-hour for $2. We bought some of the yummy fudge (there were TONS of flavors). We had ice cream on-site. We could have spent much more time there, but were on a schedule. Lots of parking, friendly workers and just an overall fun time!
Lark toys has lots of activities to choose from, including the free museum and the gorgeous carousel ($2). You can go shop, eat, and play mini golf, or you can just browse and maybe ride the carousel, as we did. A great place for the preschool and elementary school gang.
This is a one of a kind stop. The carousel has magically carved animals with exquisite details. The ride runs every thirty mins. but you have plenty of things to look at before and after a ride. There is a weight limit of 185 pounds for the movable animals. The fudge was yummy with 15 plus varieties to try.The book store was fantastic. It was filled with all of my favorite stories from when I grew up plus many new ones. They have chosen to sell the best of the best books and all of the them are displayed with the covers facing you instead of having their spines facing you. In the toy store we found some unique games we haven't seen anywhere else. A good time was had by all and we will definitely stop again if ever in this neck of the woods again.
Lark Toys is a treasure you will thoroughly enjoy, no matter what your age. Toys for sale are from all time frames, and many you had completely forgotten you had when you were a kid yourself. They also provide a nice selection of unique books. The carousel is unique and nostalgic and still fun to ride. Hand dipped ice cream as well as candies and soda fountain food are a treat. Finally, if you are into minature golf, it's a must do activity. You can easily spend several hours here, and my wife and I take our summer visitors here for a unique experience.
Take a trip down memory lane when you enter. A little museum brings back memories when you were a kid. The toy shop holds regular toys as well as unique and hard to find. The book store is very impressive and keeps me coming back at least 2 times a year. Books I remember from childhood that you can not find anywhere else. Children's Books from the the 30's ,40's and 50's as well as current releases. The carousel runs every 30 minutes for a fee of $2.00. One of the prettiest and most detailed I have ever seen. The fudge is divine and the cheese curds amazing! Full service snack shop, fudge store and candy shop. Miniature golf course attached. Be prepared to stay awhile! Looking and enjoying is free, but in guarantee you, you can't leave without spending money.
