I love the smoky taste of the beer and the Taproom is fun. The staff are friendly and will assist you if you are unsure what beer to try. I like it that they invite food trucks to visit for their customers to enjoy. It's great to have this unique brewery in our city! We love this place!
Hammerheart is a small brewery/taproom located on the north side of Lino Lakes on Lake Drive. Great selection of beers and a food truck on certain days. Actually could have some more seating inside because it's become quite popular!
Awesome theme in this place. They have great beer and you can tell they are growing fast. I liked every single one of their beers, all were full flavored and much more superior than most local breweries around. The flavor of the beer goes deeper than just the surface, well brewed. However, there is no food here. Luckily they let you order from the delivery menu . . . great job!
Staff friendly. Knowledgeable to match our taste with their beers. Only wish they had more tables/stools. Will come again! Reminds me of European bars.
This place had great atmosphere, super rustic, and it adds to the rustic-ness that you aren't in the middle of Nordeast, you are out in a semi-rural Minnesota town. Great drive on a winter's night (with your designated friend). A group of us went out to Hammerheart, and pulled over at some local random bars along the way, and we had so much fun!!They have amazing beer, especially the smoked the varieties. They serve your flights on hand-carved wooden Nordic dragon boards. I wanted one so bad. "You've been to one brewery, you've been to 'em all", is not the case with this unique Nordic hideaway.
Taste them and decide for yourself which is the right one for you, and enjoy the atmosphere and ceder scent emitted from the wood decor. Friday and Saturday night the place is very packed.
Love the beer and the interior decor. The owners and staff make the experience memorable and keep us coming back. Awesomeness all around.
great craft beers in a delightful pub like atmosphere. You can order in food and have a group meeting or family get together. The "flights" take you through a tasting cornucopia of tongue teasing talent laden ales and beers.
I rarely go here because the lack of seating and the fact that they need peanuts. I just want to enjoy the beer and crack a bunch of peanuts. But yeah, otherwise this place is pretty dope. They look like viking/metal heads who run the place. Which is pretty cool!
Whenever we visit another city, we always make an effort to try out as much of the local craft beer as we can. We were pleasantly surprised to find Hammerheart very close to my in-laws home during a recent visit. The space is really cool - not huge, but a nice place to hang. Their beer selection is not real mainstream, which, depending on your tastes can be good or bad. They had several beers made with smoked malts, which were fun to try. Their smoked pale ale was really good. In my opinion, the only negative is really that their portfolio is very heavy on the dark, robust beers (which I happen to love) and I think on a warm summer night, it might have been nice to have a nice, crisp, hoppy IPA or something similar. That said, I love breweries that do their own creative thing, and these guys do it well, so cheers!
I got a growler of some hearty, brown ale as a gift. I have yet to get back to the brewery to get a refill, but the ale was excellent. Good head, rich flavor and the growler lasted me into a fourth evening and held up well.
I live within footsteps of this taproom so I have been there a few times. It is a cozy place, but that can put you off if it is crowded since there is minimal seating and a short bar. Also it is hard to know what beer to choose, but if you can catch a staff member they are good at helping you decide. They have food trucks visit once in awhile so that is nice.
After much anticipation for this brewery to open, we finally got to try it out on a recent Friday afternoon (4:30). Upon arriving it was quite crowded....standing room only to be exact. People were actually a couple deep at the bar and the only picnic table was full also. After making my way to the bar over a screaming guitar (not really, there is no music) I made my beer selection from a handwritten menu on a rather small chalkboard (eyes not good at my age) and got a brief description from the bartender who was very busy. Tried 3 different beers (one light and two darks, super yummy)....let me say, not a sleeper in the bunch. Loved them all a lot. I will come back to get the beer, but will take it home to enjoy (growlers available). We took the beer outside, hoping to avoid the crowd and noise but found no seating outside....dismay. I really need a place to park it on a Friday afternoon to really enjoy a great beer. They have no waitresses....sadly. I would have liked to "like" this place more, but the lack of seating, service and not even a peanut, cracker, or chip in sight, makes it kinda hard for me. Like I said, though, the BEER IS GREAT.
