We took our God-daughter (almost 5) here. We were the only ones here. But everyone there was ready and willing to help us. Some other reviewers complained about the conditions of the animals/pens. I am no farmer, but the conditions at the MN State Fair seem much more crowded to me. I thought it was reasonably clean and Sarah had a great time. In fact she was asking to come back sometime when she had only been there 10 minutes. And she lives on a farm! They also have a maze with play sets and they have a big sand pile and a lot of toys. Sarah wore herself out and when we took her home, we understand she immediately went to sleep. So parents, take note, if you want some peace and quiet after visiting. All in all, a fun time for all.
It's ok. There were some fun parts, including getting a peacock feather and playing around in the yard. Good place to stretch your legs and take a minor detour off the interstate, if you're passing through for other reasons. Many of the chickens were losing feathers. I asked and was given some explanation (don't remember). Since then, I've learned it can be a sign of overcrowding and stress. That seems pretty likely, as the animal cages were pretty dirty, and there were many critters together.I'm sure it's not easy to keep all the animal cages perfectly spotless or anything, but the cleanliness had me a bit worried for their health.
Went here for the corn maze and the petting zoo. The place was dirty. The animals were a mess and the corn maze was o.k. at best.
This is a typical farm and that is it. Not much to see good if you would like a two hour trip. The animals that they had are typical animals that you can see at the zoo. Unless you are in the area you could go there, however there are other things in the area to do that are just as fun. May family did have fun but would have like more to do.
While visiting Family in Alexandria, we decided to take the baby (14mo) to see the animals. Well worth the time! Nice drive (onto 'washboard' road) into the country. A 'tour' of the barn and introduction to the barn animals by one of the 'Erickson's" GrandKids, baby got to pet a squeelling baby pig, and pet the bunnies, they even gave him a Peacock tail feather. Then a tour around the farm, fed the goats, saw geese, Small horses, llamas, and the play barn, where the 'corn pit' (a Play space with dried corn on the ground) is located. Then some time Outside to play in the Sand Pile which has digging toys and trucks, a Playground with swingsets and a trampoline. The grounds are very nice, with flower gardens for wonderful Photo Ops. Our baby Loved playing in the Sand and being in the fresh air, as we live in a Large city in Texas, we were delighted by the fresh air and cooler temps and being able to play out side. A fun way to spend a few hours! We had a lot of fun!
Came with kids to see animals and have some fun. For the price of admission it was a good time.
