Last year in February, my friends and I went to Kendall Candle Factory, we got the tour and learned about how they made the candles. Right away, when we walked in the door, you could smell the candles, but it wasn't an overpowering scent, it was pleasant. We all had the chance to make our own candles - choose our scents and our colors and were helped in getting the process started. My candle turned out beautiful and smelled wonderful. I hope we go again this year, I want to make a wine bottle candle.
I've been here several times, and always enjoy the visit. Though it seems like a small factory, there's an amazing variety of candles made there. Sally is so creative! If you have time, take the tour and learn how the candles are made. You can place a special order to get colors that match your decor and scents that match your mood. When my son got married, I ordered a Unity candle, with their names and the date of the wedding. It's very beautiful!
You do get a small tour and manufactureing is explained. I love the scents. The scents are not overpowering or artifical. This is the only time I have smelled "rain" scent the really smelled like rain
After making "our annual' visit to the candle shop I asked if they would be able to re-create a "old" scent I could no longer find. To my surprise yes! The candles are lovely and the scent is right on! Good value for a custom made gift for my family. All of the staff is welcoming and they offer tours and classes. Sales area small but has good variety. Good visit when you in the area.
When we first walked in, it seemed like small area displaying candles. Then Sallygave us tour & told us about different types of candles, including ones that smell like wine & is shaped like a wine bottle, which we bought for a wedding gift. This place is really nice. I encourage anyone in the area to check this candle factory/store out.
When you walk in, you are initially disappointed. Right away someone came out from the back and was excellent at explaining all about the company and we were really educated about candles. It was great! She then took us in the back where they make the candles and it was so interesting. Their candles are beautiful and smell great. They will customize color and scents for you for no additional cost and they ship. They are hard to see from 371 especially driving south. I'm so glad we "worked" at finding it!
There once was a candle factory in the Breezy Point area of Pequot Lakes called Kinze Candle Co. We visited it annually on our trips up north, and when they closed their doors a few years back it left a void in our vacation plans that was sadly missed. To our delight, a new factory and store came to down and this one is well worth checking out! They have tours, classes, and a very nice gift shop and some great quality candles! I bought one called a Gump (as in Forrest Gump) which has layers of different scents to enjoy over a long period of time. You can even purchase a candle or two and have custom colored ribbons decorate them. A very enjoyable visit!
