glacial lakes trail

Nice trail, a lot of beauty, a wood bridge. But a bit too open and close to the road on many sections. I wouldn't go out of my way to get to it, but if I knew I was going to be in the area I would make sure to bring the bike, helmet and lock. Some art and shopping in the towns.

Lots of variety of scenery to look at. Mostly flat, can get very hot in middle of day and some windy spots.

We rode from Willmar to Spicer with two young children, about a 13 mile round trip. A very flat and peaceful ride past prairie, forest and lakes. We stopped in Spicer for coffee and treats at Deidras Coffee and Bakery which is right off the trail. I love it when there's time for an iced coffee in the middle of a ride!

I like the fact that it take you back to nature and the outdoors. Gives opportunity to exercise in a healthful way!

I have used the Glacial Lakes Trail many times. The trail was made on an old railroad track. So for biking or running it's a very flat trail, no hills at all. What I love about it is that it takes you into some very scenic areas. There are lots of ponds and wildlife areas along the trail. It's so much better than riding next to a highway.
