During our recent trip to Minnesota, we stopped in to catch a movie to get a break from all of the shopping at the MOA. The staff members were very courteous and the seats were very comfortable.
There are a lot of options, such as alcoholic beverages, D Box seats, and many movies playing at once. You would think that at one of busiest malls in the country there would be efficiency and a sense of urgency but that is incredibly lacking.
The seats are so comfortable and there are little round tables and drink holders. You can buy beer or wine. No children. Perfect movie going experience!
was a great way to finish our last vacation day! polite staff... serious security gaurds! didnt enjoy the teenage boys fighting but i cannot control everyone everywhere so thats why the guards were mentioned
theater has a very strict 21+ policy which could pose a problem if you aren't drinking yet have restrictions on your ID. "bar" menu is minimal..it's beer and wine and "food" is whatever the theater has (hot dog-chicken tenders-nachos) and as expected overpriced. Seating in the 21+ theater is interesting but maybe I'm spoiled by my normal theater...I wasn't impressed
The seats were very comfortable and they reclined. Laid out decently. Seemed like a long walk to get there.
Not my favorite theater by any means. This place is overpriced, and the popcorn is average at best. If you are on an all day date at the MOA, this place is convenient, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
Theater seat are comfy. Room was a little small. If you eat before the movie at some resturants you may get a discount on your tickets!
The theaters at the Mall of America really make the movie going experience a fun outing for couples, friends or families. Located on the third floor of the Mall above the food court it's a great outing to take in a movie at this mall. There are a few very specific theaters within here that really cater to customers. One is the theater with D-box seating for action movies shown in the theater. The seats have their very own speakers and they also shake and vibrate accordingly with the action taking place in the screen. It's a lot of fun. My personal favorite is the Over 21 age theater. There are ushers who work this theater and you can order food from a menu and they'll bring it to you during the movie. I like this theater as it is always quieter and no one is texting during the movie. All in all the MOA Theaters offer a variety of great choices.
Who knew booze and a movie theater go hand in hand? Went to watch Dumb and Dumber II and was able to enjoy a Corona while I watched. Awesome.
Awesome seats that recline!!! matinee prices at $6 ...look for a pamphlet at hotels or where they have them displayed cause the free small popcorn was enough for two people or more and well worth it.
Enjoyed the theater, but watch out for the reclining chairs. They recline a little too much and are hard to get up from. Great movie deal of $6.
Old, outdated movie theatre. Strange employees who are rude. Worst popcorn we ever had. Ended up throwing the large tub away. We went to the 21+ theater. You had to prove your date of birth. Then to get senior price you had to prove a second time and the jerk was put out that I would be so bold to request best price. He even muttered vulgar language under his breath. Young employees running throughout like fools. At the snack counter, employees standing around talking rather than waiting on you. Does this place have management? Mall of America, shame on you.
Maybe my expectations should not have been so high, but since we were at the MOA and everything was bigger and better there- I expected the movie theater to be a little nicer. The restrooms are very clean and big. The food is the same fare you'd find at any movie theater. However, for whatever reason there were two separate lines for snacks- one for cash only and one for cards- this wasn't marked in any way and we had to switch lines- causing our wait to increase because the staff member finally shouted "cash only" in this line. the seats looked like an early attempt at stadium seating- not staggered quite right, and each row wasn't as low as it really needed to be if you have a tall person in front of you. All in all, I think its a great place to go if you need a break from the MOA, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see a movie here.
I didn't like coming out of the theater on a Saturday night as there were way to many people in the mall, some running around and I didn't feel safe. This theater may be fine during the day, but avoid the MOA on Saturday night!
