It's just a small park with a walking trail . You can swim in the creeks and that can be fun climbing the rocks and jumping . In the fall they have fall fest there .. It's a nice free thing for the family. Free train ride also. There is a small play ground for kids and grills to cook out with picnic tables .

We spent 3 1/2 hours hiking trails in Lester Park ... favorite area was along the Lester River with overlooks along the river. Many cross country ski trails as well...wide, easy to navigate areas (except for some that were extremely muddy and required walking along the edge!). The leaves were amazing ... beautiful yellows and reds/oranges framed against a bright blue sky! Lots of maps along the trails, but would recommend taking a photo of one early on your hike as a reference point!

Walked along the river with bubbling brooks and enjoyed the nature. There are places you can go down and put your feet in the water and just enjoy being among the rocks.

The Zenith City has so much for visitors to see and do, it's hard to take it all in. But for those who like an off the beaten path adventure, try this east end neighborhood park. It does have the usual playground for the kids and picnic shelter, but it also features two gorgeous northshore streams that cascade along both sides of the park. Lovely hiking, critter watching, waterfalls, and awesome swimming holes! Oh yeah...great mountain biking too with a brand new trail system. And if the water is shivering rather than babbling, Lester has the only light XC ski trails in the city park system. Bike out here from Canal Park on the Lakewalk and find your own new favorite Duluth attraction.

The Lester River is beautiful. Nice swimming hole the local kids were enjoying. We were looking forward to the 7 bridges road but, it was closed for construction. That was disappointing

People come here for different reasons. For family gatherings, picnics, hiking, skiing, and swimming and jumping into the waterholes formed by the Lester River's current. Hiking and skiing trails meander throughout the park and offer numerous degrees of difficulty (see trail maps posted all around). Beautiful deciduous and conifer trees everywhere. Several waterfalls. We went here after finding Chester Park closed. Our goal was a short hour hike and we were pleasantly surprised.

Not a great golfer, but enjoy swinging the club, Lester Park has a forgiving course and some beautiful vistas. Tried out a new driver and two new woods and was inspired to greater heights. Lester Park also has a beautiful spot for weddings. It has a River for fishing. In the winter it has cross country ski trails and sliding hills. In the fall, look for the colorful leaves.

Trees line the hiking trails at the tops of rocky cliffs above the river. Swimming holes and rock jumping, regular or fly fishing spots, swimming or fishing at the base of waterfalls, a playground... There are many things to do at Lester Park in the summer. It is a great place to go for FREE adventure. (Please pick up after your pet if you bring one.)

Nestled in the eastern area of Duluth - you will find another "Gem" of the Northland...Lester Park. With the Lester River cascading thru the park - it is one of the most beautiful and scenic - of many - rivers which flow thru Duluth, MN. Travel up the river on the west side - and you can take a scenic hike along 7 Bridges Road. Having been there recently - it appears the road is closed to vehicle traffic - but hiking is allowed. Definitely a must to see any season of the year.

Very nice wooded trails for both classic and skate skiing. I am not sure of the entire trail length, but it must be 10 to 15 kilometres. There is a beautiful 5 k section that is lit for night skiing.

The park was great, bridges were nice, trails were excellent and the running club makes an adventure out of exploring the trails.

Growing up in Duluth in the '50s, Lester Park was THE place to go for family picnics. The recent flood leveled it out a bit, but the vista are still incredible.

It is a lovely golf course with many hills so a cart is truly a necessity. The club house is quaint and very old.

Lester is one of the better hiking areas in Duluth. There is a river that runs through the park, and in areas, there are some large cliffs that make the scenery super cool. I walked up the river in my shoes (most of it is shallow) and it was an awesome trek. The cliffs were beautiful and it was sort of adventurous hiking up the river -- I would recommend going there definitely. If you don't want to get wet -- there are plenty of trails up above the river.

This park is just breath-taking in the winter! A group of us went cross country skiing and had a fabulous time. The trails are groomed, one-way, and well kept. The trail maps are easily accessible and easy to navigate. There are a variety of skill leveled trails to choose from and you can truly make a day out of it. What a serene, peaceful park!!
