In the continuing tradition of the genius Dudley Riggs, I attended a performance of "50 Shades of Gravy!" It was a hilarious 2 hour spectacle of decadence, animated performance by very talented actors, and supremely-written chatter. Each and every cast member was beyond outrageous and talented. Of special note was/is Taj - a beautiful woman inside and out. Her antics - inflections - tonal quality - et al - were marvelous. SPECIAL NOTE: she has an amazing singing voice! My first experience at BNW was decades ago, at which time a performance of "Overdrawn at the Sperm Bank!" was rip-roaring and equally irreverent."50 Shades of Gravy" is not for the faint of heart. If you are the slightest bit prudish, or are not prepared to look life truths square in the eye, DO NOT ATTEND!If you are open, and have a reasonable sense of humor, DO NOT MISS THIS PERFORMANCE! BNW is such a fine venue, and always offers great entertainment. Multiple full bars, selling hard and soft drinks AND select snacks) are a nice accompaniment to the show.As the marketing slogan states, "The More You Drink, the Funnier We Are!"Don't miss "50 Shades of Gravy!" You will be thrilled to have experienced this mess.

I have heard that the students from the Student Union, give the original staff members their latest ideas for new comedy sketches? After years of seeing the same people on stage all of the time... I want to ask this...? Are there new people in the wings? People that will Shake up the ensemble and give the Brave New Workshop new life...just like SNL does. Please give me something more than the same old same old. New sketches are good...new faces are sometimes better...

Gave tickets to my husband for his birthday and we had a blast! Called ahead to get help in deciding where to sit and the staff member was very helpful... our seats were excellent! The cast were hilarious, yet displayed restraint in their humor. They did swear and tell some off-color jokes, but my husband and I thought this was used appropriately for effect. Very humorous outlook on mid-western life! Would definitely return!

We went to the Christmas show “Twerking Around the Christmas Tree” and it was hilarious. There was not much twerking but the show not appropriate for the kids. It was a combination of well scripted skits laced with very clever improve. They do have a teaching workshop for the craft and, if the four performers are any indication, it must be a great place to learn it.They have two bars and drink service at the seats, so it is a party too. I am still laughing the next day. This place is now a must for me every time I am in the Twin Cities.

We were at the BNW last night for their show, it was unbelievable! My wife and I laughed the entire time, along with the rest of the people in the audience. I remarked to my wife after the show that this was like watching Saturday Night Live, only in person and better! As a bonus, our ticket stub was good for a "Free" Sangria at Solera after the show. Can't wait to go back!

The Brave New Workshop scores another night of hilarity and fun. This year's Holiday special, Twerking Around the Christmas Tree is a great show. A combination of self-deprecating humor and social commentary, the show is a must see if you are visiting Minneapolis or a local looking for a fun night out.

Husband and I went on Saturday night and boy was it worth out, this is one talent group of comedians, what a fun night!

Excellent show. Performers were all professional and very entertaining. Even the encore show was good. It didn't seem improvised at all. In fact, it all seemed well practiced and very smooth. Crisp timing, clever dialogue. Very much worth the money. The setting is intimate, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Service was good. Mainly had beer and wine, but offered a nice selection. I was in town for a college tour at University of Minnesota. Could have taken the light rail to the show, but would have had to walk a few blocks down Hennepin. I wasn't sure how safe that would be, so we took the hotel shuttle. But after the show we walked up the street and then caught a cab. The area is bustling at night and there were a lot of cops around, so I think it's pretty safe. They tell you to come early, but almost no one did. It lasted from about 8 until 9:45. The encore show (which is definitely worth staying for) was about an hour long and started shortly after the headline show was over.

I've gone to about 7 different shows, and have had a great experience every time. Some nights my stomach and cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. Even the 'average' performances are really enjoyable. They tie in current events, and often push the boundaries. The improv portion can be hit or miss, but it's still entertaining. Worth every penny of admission. Very small venue (but that adds to it!), so I find the lack of legroom slightly uncomfortable. Reasonable drink prices. Very friendly staff. Lots of dinner and parking options in the area.

We went to Brave New Workshop last weekend to see Wolf of Wall Street. I could not have laughed any harder. The actors are clearly having a lot of fun and they are so good at what they do. We had a table in the front near the pianist. If you have any trouble hearing I would go for a seat in the middle and not so close to the piano. The piano is a bit loud, but very good. We had drinks at the bar on the second floor. Three drinks were $24. Two rum and diet and one beer of some sort. All staff are really friendly. After the show we stayed for the improv. Also so fun! We got out at around 10:45 from the 8 o'clock show. Capital Grille Valet closes at 11....it was close. Whew. This was such a fun night! I can't wait for their Holiday show!!!

WOW, thank you so much for coming back! It is so wonderful for us to hear from longtime BNW fans about their memories of Dudley in "the old days." We are lucky to have you, thanks for coming back!

Just saw 'A Snowplow named Desire'. This troupe has only gotten better over the years and they were hysterical the first time I saw them 40 years ago. Went with my 18 yo daughter and we were laughing so hard we could barely breathe. Still humming 'I'm a little teapot….'. Do not miss these guys whenever you are in town!

I have seen many performances at The Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis, but this one, "A Snowplow Named Desire; Love In Minnesota", absolutely "takes the cake" ...."you betcha!"! I was laughing from the beginning to the end! Enjoyed it immensely!

EXCELLENT show- just what fed up and frigid Minnesotans need to take the chill off what's been a winter from... the vortex. Seriously funny stuff. There isn't a bad seat in the house, which is a rarity! Great sight lines, strong pours, and an excellent cast! GO!
