I have visited this park since I was a kid. It is a great site for family picnics, you can reserve shelters with a deposit, and there is a basic playground for younger children. The new pool is awesome and makes a great change. If you like to sled, it is the best in the Quad Cities with a huge hill.

The Fejervary pool is the worst pool I've been to in my entire life. Do NOT waste your money here!!! They should have a NO FUN sign stuck along with EVERY Other sign they have. I was a lifeguard for 10 years of my life. NEVER have I seen or had to enforce such rules at a pool. 1) I was told (as an adult) not to go UNDER the rope next to the slide after i went down...I HAD to use the stairs. 2) My niece was told she couldn't a a pep in her step and had to walk and wasn't allowed to sit on the water spouts. 3) A mother wasn't allowed to put her baby half way down and hold her baby going down the rest of the way on the BABY SLIDE. 4) My 6yr old son was too big for the baby slide and not old enough for the big slide. Makes you wonder WHAT we were able to do!

I think a lot of these bad reviews are based on nostalgia and not having actually visited the park any time in the present. (The children's learning center used to be a zoo.) I enjoy this park and the learning center. They have a sand area, a natural building area, a natural play ground for the children to climb on, as well as a model train that runs on Saturdays. (That is my 2 year old favorite. He could sit there for hours.) The staff who work in the learning area are very helpful and always friendly. Thursdays (during the summer) they have story time next to mother goose in the morning. The playground area across the street is fantastic for my young climber and my older son as well. With the putnam museum down the street we can spend the whole day in one area having both indoor and outdoor fun. It really is a hidden treasure. It's too bad people can't get over the past and appreciate it for what it is now.

This park was the top park of Davenport at one time. With Mother Goose Land and Monkey Island gone.....so is the glory of this park! I remember taking my children to these attractions and the park was one of their favorite places to go. It was mine too as a little girl. Davenport has lost the incentive to entertain our youth and is all about the big bucks for the adults that tout themselves as being important. It is sad that this small community has gotten too big for its britches! This is one of my reasons for moving away and vowing never to return. The politicians and government leaders have forgotten what is really important and have joined with all of the other politicians of the world, who are out for number one!

I grew up in Davenport back in the 19070s. And as I was watching channel 6 news just now they were talking about Fejervary Park. So I did a google search on the former Mother Goose Land and was sadden to see it is no longer there. When I lived in Davenport we lived on the far east side which I believe is called the east village now. So making the trip all the way out to Fejervary park was a long trip back then when all my family had was city buses or taxi's to depend on, but I remember the trip was always well worth it for us kids. They need to bring something like that back for kids instead of kids living on playstations or xbox now. I now live in S.E. Iowa but still remember the good times me and my brothers had at Mother Goose land, something today's kid's are missing out on.

We stopped at the playground on a Sunday morning and there were a couple large groups there, but it wasn't packed. The playground equipment is different, so kindof interesting to watch kids figure out how the spinning pieces worked and what to do. We visited the learning center, which looked like a way for kids to get some "nature" play also. The pool was closed for the season so we didn't check that out. And it looked like there had been animals at this park at one point, but we didn't see any.

All the money and effort to revive this park's attraction seems to have failed. The zoo has been converted for rescue horses (admirable, but not fun for kids!). Hopefully someone will help the city fathers and mothers keep this a spot for families to visit. It needs resurrected!!

I grew up with monkey Island and Mother Gooseland and no longerthere. It has not been kept up very well

Fejervary is a fairly standard city park. I did not visit the aquatic park which is open for a couple months each summer. A picnic shelter and playground round out the attractions. Mother Goose, once the entry to the zoo, still stands. The Putnam Museum is adjacent to the park.
