This is a nice glass bridge that goes over a main traffic road and has a look out at one end to view the Mississippi River. It also overlooks the casino, which then it can be hard to find a parking spot. I got many great pics and the bridge lights up at night with all different colors.....real cool to see at night!
I liked the sights, lights, the experience, FREE! Pay nothing get little, my kind of fun. Cheap thrill, romantic.
This is what the locals call the bridge to nowhere. It is a skybridge that goes over 2nd street in Davenport, but really doesn't end up anywhere. It gives a great view of the downtown area, and the glass walls really make for a fun experience for young children.
Brightly colored, good view of river and downtown. Bridge goes across a busy street and ends near the casino, however you exit bridge in a parking lot and then have to walk outside to casino. Citizens jog stairwell for exercise
This is a nice place to get a view of Davenports LeClaire Park and the largest operating roller dam on the Mississippi. Bring some binoculars during Eagle season and watch the majestic birds soaring and fishing in the open waters downstream of the dam. We enjoyed seeing a number of tallon claw catches during our visit to the waterfront. For even a better view go to the watch area by the old Dock restaurant. We've also visited during the all too frequent floods of downtown to see the mighty river, it's impact and take photos. At night the bridge is lit by alternating banks of colored lights. It will be interesting to see how the bridge will be tied into the waterfront improvements after the casino moves off the riverfront.
This is pretty much a bridge to nowhere that has music on the inside and a small light show. This is nothing to get excited about. If you are going to the casino and are parked across the road or staying at one of the hotels downtown, then visit. It will be quicker to just cross the street...
The place looks abandoned. It was really dirty! And, after all, is just a bridge (not an impressive one).
While it's something cool for casino attendees to walk through from the lot to the casino, it's not worth a visit in and of itself. It's simply an enclosed walkway with lights that cycle color. In recent years it's been a hangout spot for teens and the homeless, so that removes some of the little appeal it has to start with. If you're within a block or two of it, it's neat to check out quick, otherwise, don't waste your time.
Nice view from the bridge, don't know that I would make a special trip to go see it. Overall if you are in the area it's pretty neat. (kids would like it)
The bridge really doesn't go anywhere and I didn't particularly think the views from the bridge were that great. It did offer a nice place for a walk. Exterior looks nice, interior appears to be showing age (much sooner than it should). Mostly saw "walkers" out for their exercise. Perhaps it wasn't the best time of year to visit. Kids would like to watch the cars go by underneath. Nice there isn't a cost to visit
If this was part of the walk-way system for the hotels and casino, I'd give it a much higher rating, but what's the point? It doesn't connect you to anywhere. Sure, the light show is kind of cool, and the above city views are interesting, but really, what is there? I hear it's a great place for the vagrants to keep warm in the cold weather.
What a waste of taxpayer money. The light show is cool and the view is great. A great place to visit if you are from out of town. You can marvel that with any luck your politicians are not so stupid and profligate with taxpayer money.
Truly a bizzare piece of architecture. It is Sarah's(as in Palin) bridge to nowhere. The fact Daveport considers this as a tourist attraction says only one thing---there are really good drugs there.
Go at night and enjoy the views and the light show! Great way to see the Mississippi and take some pictures.
Its a great way to see the Mississippi River. Great views both up and down the river. At night with all the lights it is pretty cool. Just seems like a bridge to no where though.
