Agree with reviews - beautiful course - but it is NOT in Garnavillo, IA - if you click on the web site -it will list the correct location in AMANA, Iowa!I am not a golfer - but love to visit Amana Colonies for all the lovely shops, beautiful scenery and interesting history.
My wife and I played a round here in late June. Beautifully maintained and challenging, with a bit of something for golfers at different levels. The pro shop staff was quite helpful and the restaurant staff was great! We got off early - something I'd recommend as it seems like this course gets a good deal of play. Others on the course, some clearly regulars, were courteous as well. Good value!
The only reason I don't give five stars is because of the bugs on this course. They will eat you alive. I didn't have bug spray. Fortunately my playing partner did. Otherwise wouldn't have been able to finish. The course is quite hilly making it seem longer than it is. Challenging and fun. Picturesque. The staff is very proud of their course. Almost to the point of annoying. Seriously, must have been asked at least a dozen times how I liked it. Still everyone was very pleasant and efficient. The only other downside is the price. $70 rack rate is a bit high for the middle of Iowa. I got half price on golf now.
If you are an avid golfer then this is a course you must try. It is set in rolling hills with beautiful views. The wildlife is abundant and add to the scenes of the course. It is designed as a thinking players course as there are tight fairways and layups you have to consider. The carts are equipped with GPS which will help you decide options based upon hazards. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to assist you. I would recommend joining their email club as they send you regular specials. There are five sets of tees that add a level of enjoyment to all skill sets. My wife and I played there and she was able to enjoy the course of the short tees, I enjoyed the second set of tees. Course is well kept and maintained.I would recommend making it a weekend and visiting the colonies or Cedar Rapids.
This golf course that is located about 30 minutes southwest of Cedar Rapids Iowa is by far the best designed and maintained course in eastern Iowa. The staff is friendly and go overboard making you feel welcome. The course itself is 18 holes of neverending hills and forest. Deer and turkey share the fairways with the golfers, and the fall colors can make you wonder if you are sightseeing or playing golf. The pro-shop is well equiped , and the snack bar can serve up just about anything you want to eat or drink. This is one golf course that I will come back to time and again.
One of, if not the, best golf course in Eastern Iowa.A golf course carved out of a rolling hills forest. A challenge to your skills, a treat to your eyes.It is in pristine condition. We STRONGLY recommend this course. It is a Gotta Play kinda place.RubeCorrect address is - 451 27th Avenue · Amana, IA · (319) 622-6222
