We have been drinking Summerset wine and going to their beautiful setting for many years!!! Staff are friendly and fun, and wine is even better!! :) Our favorites are Cabo, Harvest, Kiss me, and now Mosscato!! Once you try them, you will find it hard to love another more! :) Shelly

Even though the wine is average at best, they have live music outdoors in the summer. It's a great place to meet people when single.

My friend had her wedding here this fall and it was GORGEOUS! The ceremony took place overlooking the vines, and the venue was perfect for a lively celebration. The winery staff in the tasting room were very informative and friendly. We did some sampling and took (more than) a few bottles home with us. Try the Vidal Blanc white wine, it's my new favorite. My friend rented the Inn for the weekend which was a perfect spot to get ready and do a Sunday brunch. We made our way back to the winery and the owners gave us a tour of the wine cellar and told us all about the history. We spent Sunday afternoon on the winery deck listening to a fun blues band, eating cheese and crackers, before heading back to reality.

Great Iowa Wines and the staff is really friendly. During the summer months they bring in bands to play on Sunday afternoons.

My husband and I went to Iowa for a wedding, and decided to stay at the Inn located inside of the winery! Ron and the staff gave us a wonderful tour of the property, and we thoroughly enjoyed trying out their excellent wine! Coming from Germany, I can only say fabulous things about our experience. Summerset represents Iowa really well, and it definitely made our visit more enjoyable! Great job and thank you again!

I recently made a trip back to Iowa for a wedding at Summerset winery. It is a beautiful place to hold a wedding and everyone was so helpful and attentive. The owners were so welcoming and gave us a special tour of the Winery and the Inn. I also rented a room at the Inn and was very satisfied with the accommodations! If you go to Iowa you must stop at Summerset and have a glass of wine or two since it is all so good!

Me and my wife had our wedding at Summerset Winery this fall. As we're originally from the Des Moines area we wanted something close enough to the downtown Des Moines area, but that would offer a unique experience for our local and out of town guests. Summerset was a great find. The location was beautiful, the price is very reasonable, the wines were tasty, and the staff was very helpful. We had our family stay at the Inn on the property which was very convenient for getting ready, and also allowed our guests to walk home at the end of the festivities. We had guests from all over the country and they were all very impressed! We would recommend this winery to anyone looking to have a nice event hosted by lovely folks. Thank you again Summerset! We'll be back!

My wife wrote a review that hit the high lights and low lights of our experience with Summerset Winery. However, my personal interaction with the owner, Ron Marks, needs to be shared to warn others.We had been patrons of Summerset for several years, attending their Sunday music events. We enjoyed the grounds and music. The staff is always helpful. So when we decided to get married and hold the event at the Summerset Inn, we thought we were making a great choice for our family and friends – and for us. Kristen, the event manager was wonderful to work with, suggesting changes as necessary as we went through our planning process. We worked out guest number changes, entertainment changes and logistics to everyone’s satisfaction.We did not expect the personal attention of the owner that went well below professional to the point of obscene. We were visited by Ron the night before, as we were sitting in the hot tub. Ron waited for the older adults in the group to leave and then asked the 20-something women to take off their swim suits. The women were not amused and asked him to leave. Day 1 ends on a sour note.On the wedding day, Ron shows up to drink our wine and eat our food. The Summerset staff wrote, “It is customary to have staff onsite during ceremonies and receptions to make sure there are no problems or damage to the property. Our staff NEVER eats or drinks anything without an invitation from the wedding party, and we are embarrassed that you feel our behavior was inappropriate.” The only problems were due to Ron, so he needs someone watching him. And yes, your staff (owner) did eat and drink without an invitation. He unfortunately appears in a number of wedding pictures during the day. No other staff were “onsite” except Ron. Not during the event. And how did Ron express his gratitude to me, the groom? He went on a tirade about how most of the weddings he hosts at Summerset don’t work out and that people spend too much on their weddings. And absolutely horrific thing to even bring up to a groom on his wedding day, much less while drinking our wine. Later that evening we had had enough of Ron after he was yet again explaining why weddings were a waste of time and money. He was bluntly told to leave. Day 2 ends on a sour note.Since the next day was Sunday and we didn’t have food and drink out, and were not in the hot tub, we did not experience any more rude behavior from Ron. We were treated wonderfully by everyone else at Summerset, but cannot recommend this location unless you know Ron will be away.Sadly, Summerset had many great memories but we cannot condone the actions of the owner by bringing any more business to Summerset.

We stopped by to look around and get a few bottles of wine. We liked so many we bought a case. The owner was around and gave us a quick tour of the basement and facilities. Grounds are so nice. We will be back!

As the author of a newly released book, York Street, I contacted Summerset Winery to see about holding a book signing there. I was amazed at the wonderful crowd at the winery for their live music event on Sunday, September 28th. The facilities were fabulous and a great place to hold a book signing. We love going to Summerset Winery. The owner is great, and his sister is too! They are very down to earth and friendly people. They've really got some great wines. If you are a wine drinker you should definitely check them out. We live in Lincoln, NE and make it a point of going there every summer.

I've been here several times. Every time I go the staff is very helpful and friendly. They always explain their wines and help you find the one you want. The winery itself is beautiful and the events (wino wednesday, winery tours, etc.) they host are always fun!

linda and ron and the staff greart friends i shared my 50 birthday just stayed there for my 65 they awesome freinds we had an amazing stay we do not miss a sunday tunes love taking are granddaughter she goes on bear hunts with grandpa thank you
